This hotel was perfect we only needed it for 2 nights as we’re going to an all inclusive resort after. The owners were very friendly, they ensured that we were ok all the time, and they took the time to get us breakfast and even took us around on a little tour. The rooms were clean. This hotel is perfect for those who want to have a quiet vacation.

If you keep in mind this is a 3 star resort not to mention an incredible value you will NOT be disappointed! If you are expecting 5 star accommodations at these prices not only will you be disappointed but you are delusional!

*disclaimer: this was my first vacation. My experience at Royal Decameron can be described as nothing short of magical - I mean WOW, talk about a place that goes to lengths to ensure their guests are so well taken care of. The buffet food was good - nothing particularly mind-blowing about any dish in particular, just an all-around decent eating experience. The a la carte restaurant served one of the finest beef tenderloin I've ever had in my life. The drinks were excellent - I tried a number of things from the bar menu, and always found the beverages to be tasty and prompt to order. The staff at the resort were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and very professional. The counter staff take extreme care to make sure guests' every wish and whim are attended to. The lifeguards were incredibly personable, and it was very easy to find oneself caught in lengthy and engaging conversation with any of them. As for the entertainment staff....holy cow. I never ceased to be amazed by how every one of them stuck a perfect balance between including as many guests in events as possible, while still being aware of and respectful of guests who were there for their own, more secluded vacation experience. The MANY performances by the dancers can be described as nothing short of awe-inspiring - it's obvious that they love what they do, and golly, are they ever good at it. 10/10 would recommend, and definitely can't wait to go back. Huge thanks to everyone there for such a great time!

The property was so beautiful. The people are nice. The staff are so welcoming, my room was everything that I was looking for. I needed something different from the every day hotel living and this was the best, but I was heartbroken because of my bathroom. The bathroom was nast, Everything is rusty and moldy I mean everything in the bathroom have to go. I was so excited when I entered my room until I open the bathroom door my body started crawling, I have to use my blanket to cover the bed. I have to put my T-shirts around the pillows like I didn’t want to be in the room anymore. The show pressure is very low. The water heater never work for me, but I was OK because it was hot anyway. this hotel will play with your emotion. Trust me the nightlife over there was beautiful entertainment food that drink it’s all you can eat and drink who doesn’t like that, but the whole building needs to be shut down or renovated.

I love the natural ambience. So many trees , well maintained lawns and gardens. Room was clean and tidy. I did not like the fact that telephone numbers do not work.

This resort is an hour and a half from the airport. It also has very limited dining and activity options. The resort needs updating. It is too close to public roads and areas and thus very noisy throughout the whole night, with cars jamming, dogs barking, people yelling. The staff also were not friendly and simply lazy! Everything seemed like an issue to them. I was very disappointed with our stay overall. I blame Expedia for their overall rating, because this resort is a 2 at best! I would never recommend this resort to anyone, due to the distance, and lack of normal all-inclusive perks.

If you would like to stay in a non luxurious primitive resort with intermittent running water (mostly cold by the way) This is the place for you. The Huts on the beach , food and staff are the best parts of this resort I really felt like I was surrounded by the Jamaican culture

I honestly would not recommend this hotel to anyone. To much went wrong on our stay and we couldn’t wait to leave. First we got there at 3pm and our room wasn’t ready until after 4pm. The rooms look very old especially the bathroom, the place badly needs to be renovated. We observed the dining room attendants and on more than one occasion we realized that they were not friendly or interested in serving other black guest. We had to signal to them to assist us even tho they saw us walked in. Food was repetitive and lack flavor and the bartending staff needs more training on how to prepare drinks. Rooms were not properly cleaned, and there seems to be a smell coming from the bathroom. The AC was not cooling properly and water went away so we had to contact the front desk area for assistance. On our second day the housekeeping staff came to clean the room, we ask her to give us 10 minutes since we were getting dressed and she left and never came back. The beach and pool area looked clean. The concept of the hotel is good but the staff needs more training and the place needs an upgrade.

Room 605 area was a mess I was so disappointed.. workman cutting trees and chopping bamboo it was so disturbing plus no refrigerator. The dining reservation food was excellent .

Our stay at Royal Decameron Runaway bay was excellent, my wife and I enjoyed every aspect of the experience. The staff members were very professional and friendly. The food choices were excelent, the entertainment staff were very experienced (Dice pineapple, Yogy Bear and the rest.) we really enjoyed their nightly presentations. We must make mention of Yanique our house keeper, she is truly an asset to your organization, she is so courteous and she does her job well, she is always in a good spirit which brightens our day. We must also make mention of the security guard known as Christmas, he is such a gentle man, he greets you like some one greeting a long last friend, we regret not being able to say good bye to him when we were leaving because he was on his lunch break, however we left a message for him. Last but not least, the front desk staff were so professional and courteous likewise the dining room staff, cooks servers, and waiters, bar tenders beach staff it was like a whole big family affair. We will definitely be recommending Royal Decameron to our friends and associates. Florizel and Elain.

At the resort they make me pay again because i have and error in my booking that was for 2 person but they booking just show one and nobody couldn’t help me so they asked me if I want my second guess I have to pay again is was so frustrating i don’t recommend it

Well of course it’s a 3 star hotel but lots of room for improvement, the food buffet is mainly empty and if you should wait for something it takes hours, the May come burnt or looking not edible. Staff are mainly unpleasant, while some make you feel welcome. I think more bar staff is needed when busy, to take pressure off so workers can be more proactive. The making of the beds is a joke, the mattress is half wrapped. Several areas need development but overall it was ok.

The vibes was great and clean ground with some staff was great. Need improvements on the boys working at the bars with there foul language and the base on my bed was broken in room166 and shower curtain need to go but otherwise it’s a great place to be .

Only issue I had with this place, was the fact that I paid for a room in the courtyard area; and was placed in a more outdated area of the resort, where I was lied to, saying it’s an “upgrade”. When I asked someone who was staying in the courtyard area of the area was more modern, they said yes. Which you can simply tell from the outside, that looks newly renovated. Apart from that, I would definitely recommend going to this resort. It’s very intimate, the vibes are nice and right.

We had an amazing time. This resort is worth it it’s amazing and beautiful. The pictures don’t give this place justice you need to go there and experience it. This is a honest review and everything is included in your room. Bars and restaurants and clubs open tell 2am. Entertainment was amazing. Drinks was strong and amazing. They made our 1year anniversary weekend memorable.

The hotel room was dirty, there was a smell that was so unbearable, we ended up checking out a day earlier. Even though house cleaning came and mop, there was a scent we could not stand. We had to leave.
