The Property when it appeared on the booking site, resembled a little fairytale castle with its unique setting, size, and color. I was only convinced that the place was real from the pictures I saw as I looked through them all on the site and scanned through the reviews. When I arrived there, I indeed saw that it was real and just as the pictures showed... Charming, cozy, clean, picturesque in a well maintained, manicured, and breathtaking setting. The food is most excellently prepared, hearty, substantial, refine and delicious all at once... The staff is courteous, friendly and responsive to your every need... My only suggestion, is that Villa Sonate screens off the area where breakfast is served on the dining room porch and the door leading to the pool area to keep the little flying critters out - when you are dining...But even with that it's just such a perfect fairytale place to stay!!! Villa Sonate is a little jewel in Runaway Bay...

Enjoyed the peace and the convenient location to Dover raceway. Only issue I had was the non-functioning safely deposit box as they couldn't locate the key.

This is my 3rd stay and it was excellent. The Jamaican breakfast each morning was a outstanding. I would like to give a big thanks to the following staff members Shance at front desk. Andre and Dalwayne who to took car of my my needs . And Mr Edwards for security . Great job I will be back.

Excellent and friendly service from waiters/bartenders. The chef prepared delicious meals, and the Blue Mountain coffee was a great start yo the day. The pool was out of services throughout our five day stay, and our second floor bathroom did not have a window or fan. More attention to details and finishes and this would be 5-star.

Loved the cleanliness. The breakfast was also good. The staff were friendly. Work was being done on the garden. It was pleasant enough that I would return if I needed to be in the area again.

First of all the security guard was cool he knows how to welcome guest and that gives you confident that professionals work there I felt welcome the place was clean and comfy definitely going back there and I would recommend it to anyone no doubt thanks again and see you soon

The room had a funny smell. And the lady at the front fest was not so nice at all ….very argumentative when she couldn’t find our reservation even tho I had it on my email 🤔

The area is very quite and the grounds is lovely. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was enjoyable very morning…Would recommend this place to anyone who is on a budget!!!

The room i got had roaches crawling in it abd bed bugs was on yhe bed i tried to bring it to the attention of a staff member but i was treated like a nobody. The bed was tough and uncomfortable to sleep on the shower and refrigerator made loud noises when in use. The food was very good could have came out a little hotter but was very tasty. Area was clean for the most part. I would not stay here again because i wasnt valued by management.

If you’ve ever considered traveling to Jamaica by yourself and was nervous or hesitant let me tell you this is the place. My first solo trip by myself and i loved it. I felt safe & secured the whole time and the staff was extremely welcoming and helpful.

The property is well kept and clean, except for the garbage at the front in the parking area. The rooms were comfy & clean. The food was great. The staff very friendly. Our experience was great and we will definitely be back for another stay.

The staffs were very friendly from the security at the gate, to the young lady at the front office to the ground staff and chef. My keys were ready and waiting for me when in went to check. It felt like we were staying with family. We got a call that breakfast was ending and that they did not see any of us for breakfast( which was complimentary). Breakfast was delicious; ackee and salt fish, fried dumpling, boiled yam and banana, with veggie, orange juice and tea/coffee. I will definitely stay there again once I am visiting that area. Highly recommended.

Pleasant stay a Villa Sonate.
This is a budget friendly place to stay with friendly staff and clean roms. My only recommendation would be to replace the antique looking lights with fans in the dining area to cool down the room on hot days.

The honeymoon suite was comfortable the jacuzzi was a plus. There was not a selection for food ... only one option for dinner n two options for breakfast.

The room itself was nice and majority of the staff. The problem that we had was it was poop on the ground by stairs where my room was and it to over an hour for staff to clean. Also the pool was beyond dirty. Last but not least. If you are not a cat lover this is most certainly not the place for you to stay. When we were let in the gate there were about 7 to ten cats right there at and by my car. Wow!!

We however regret that you saw waste on the ground near the staircase which led to your upstairs suite. Please note that once you reported the issue to our front desk agent, this was removed immediately and not left for over an hour as you stated. Our pool is skimmed and cleaned regularly and maintained at standards as required by the Health Department and was being used by other guests during this same time of your stay with us. At Villa Sonate' our aim is the ensure that each guest feels comfortable while staying with us. The cleanliness of our surroundings is therefore of paramount importance and as such we go the extra mile to ensure that we maintain the high standards that we have established over our 20 years of operation. We are very sorry that you saw stray cats in our car park. We will do our best to keep them away in the future. Disappointing stay but good setting and gate staff
Facilities were reasonable for the cost but there was a level of maintenance and repair taking place which meant service was below expected standard. Had to be moved from my room because the bathroom condition was in a poor state of repair. The male staff member on the gate was particularly welcoming and helpful. The setting was good and could potentially be a good place to stay depending on the result of the final level of repair.

Villa Sonate
This is a beautiful, quaint hotel in the foothills of the mountains. The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful at every turn. My girlfriend broke her ankle and we had to go home after the first day. I would highly recommend this hotel.
