I have been to this hotel many times for at least 6 years in a row and this time I was disappointed. There is construction going so it’s noisy throughout the day. Two positive things were the renovated rooms and staff was friendly enough. But rooms don’t have a tea kettle or coffee machine anymore. You are not allowed to enjoy the lobby area if you haven’t purchased anything, since we were told it is part of the restaurant now. I don’t remember paying for parking in the previous years or at least it wasn’t $40 before. The pool was closed probably due to the construction going on. If you are travel with young children, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel anymore.

There was construction being done, wasn’t aware of pool, fitness center and restaurant were closed . It wasn’t stated at the time of reservation. I received an email the day after my first night that there was construction and and the amenities weren’t available.

Property is under extensive remodelling which is not disclosed on website. No amenities are available which are advertised on their website yet still charge full price for room. Walls are very thin and construction starts at 7am. The only positive comments I have is that the staff are lovely and the location on the beach is beautiful. I simply have an issue with their false advertising of their property as they obviously purposely omit the construction from their add. I would have chosen a different hotel if I’d had known.

The construction and the smell of mold other than that, the view was beautiful. The room was nice and clean clean. It’s just the property.

There was construction being done on the property so several areas were tapped off and noisy. The rooms were nice and clean and view was great. Manager however was very rude. We ordered pizza and were sitting in the lobby enjoying the view. He came over and very rudely told us no outside food was allowed in the lobby. He then proceeded to chew his employees out over allowing us to have it in the lobby. There were no signs and even the employees working in the lobby weren’t aware of this rule. He came around about 2xs to reprimand his employees which made it uncomfortable for us and very awkward. It wasn’t the employees fault and we didn’t want anyone to get in trouble over it. If we were aware of this rule we wouldn’t have brought it into the lobby. Ive stayed at many hotels while traveling and had never been told outside wasn’t allowed in a hotel lobby. There’s plenty of other hotels in the area next time I’ll chose to stay in one of those with friendly management.

Was using this property for my family stay for over 25 years under different ownerships, and under several renovations, however never was treated with such disrespect by support staff.Place is missing usual comfort and safe parking.Most of the beatiful attractive garden plants and front yard items are gone.It was never disclosed at property advertisement, and would play essential role in choosing a convenient place to stay for a family with kids.We would understand , and move on, and come later on in life when this construction is over, and wouldnt get approched by a weird looking bell boy man in dark glasses, questioning why we are looking for a safe parking for our limited addition vehicle..Nice people at the counter do get aedit of being courteous, but everything else is a desaster.Even renovated rooms are missing many normal little things that used to make our stay welcomed and comfortable.

The property was completely under construction during our visit. There was scaffolding and building materials everywhere. The view was obstructed and the property was in shambles. It was disappointing because we were staying there for a birthday event and it was not at all special or festive. There should have been some notice on the website when we made reservations. It would have changed our decision about where to stay. When we brought this up, we were offered free parking.

Two days before arrival I received a call that they didn’t have any room with 2 beds despite me having a reservation for this booked way in advance. Construction was everywhere so getting to the room was more than inconvenient with a child and an expectant mom in our party. No assistance offered. We had to leave our travel cases on one floor and walk down stairs and around to get to our room with each drop off of belongings. They brought a rollaway in which is no match to a bed. Same expensive price with all the add d nonsense. We go every year but No thanks. Staying elsewhere Quite unsatisfactory

Room was stylish, new, and very clean. Restaurant was excellent and had a terrific view of the ocean. Staff were very friendly and gave us fee drink tickets. The thing to know is that the hotel is under construction as they renovate one of the wings. The construction was not an issue for us.

They are remodeling this hotel so conditions are not good. The staff is still great. Restaurant menu has limited selections. They did not have a specific bar menu like they had before. They didn’t charge resort fee which is good but still charged for parking. They should not charge anything extra until they finish the construction.

The property is at a great location but it is under construction. All the resort areas like pool and common areas are closed yet they charged me for a resort fee. I don’t understand why they charged for resort fee when common areas are closed. Not good

The room was very clean and nice. Of course waking up on the ocean is amazing but the construction and lack of elevators made it very inconvenient to go to the rooms or the lobby. I would consider staying here again when the construction is finished but as of now don’t expect it to be an overall nice stay.

The property is under construction. We were not informed. The pool/jacuzzi was closed. Lounge, closed. Very hard to get around as the elevator and hallways and stairs were not accessible. We had no hot water and when we asked about it I was treated as if I was out of line to want hot water. Very rude to me. We were charged 25$ per day for resort fee? 45$ per day for parking(parking lot was a mess, due to construction). Beautiful location on beach. Not worth the money and rude staff. You can stay other places for that price.

Under construction, so there are no pools, no lobby, very limited on everything, including no lobby, but still charged for a resort fee as if it were a fully functional resort. EV charging advertised is for Tesla only, so requires a drive a few miles up the road and a couple hours to charge a vehicle.

Was not listed that this property was under full renovation! Unreal that this would be left off by hotel and Expedia. Once we got into a room, did not clean the room after several requests and no areas to eat/sit/do anything. Very bad experience.

Complete construction zone. No hot tub, no pool- booked through Expedia and Monterey tides charged me ontop of Expedia with pet fees (do not have a pet) breakfast (did not eat breakfast ) and parking. Total billing $386.96 from Monterey Tides and 209.36 Expedia. total room charge was over $600 to stay in a construction zone. Dishonest staff-complete money grab
