All about THE “Rivah” House!

“The views from the Rivah House are spectacular! I have yet to visit a property anywhere in the area that compares! “. Comments from a previous guest.

The Rivah House is a 2 level, 2100’ sq. ft., beach-inspired, waterfront, single family home. Located just a short
distance from Washington DC, Charlottesville, Richmond Va, and surrounding areas, is perfect for a weekend getaway or an extended stay. Visit the local wineries/brewery, hiking & biking, charter a fishing adventure with local captains, go antiquing, shark tooth and fossil hunting, explore the historical sites, or simply sit on the couch/deck relax and enjoy the most amazing water front view bar none!! This beach inspired, home is beautifully kept, with a fully stocked kitchen, including a brand new (as of Feb 2020) convection oven with 4 stove top burners and a warmer. The living room which boasts the most amazing views of the water, is equipped with an electric fireplace, large flat screen TV and plenty of sitting room. The dining room is located off the living room also boasts the same amazing views. The lower level family room has a large sitting area with TV and foosball table. Great space for the kids or for your own personal escape. The Rivah House has three good-size bedrooms, that are furnished with 2 queen size beds and 4 single beds. There are also three separate full size bathrooms in the house. The Primary suite has its own full bath. The outside space consists of two large wrap around decks with several sitting areas that overlook the river. Enjoy a book , a cocktail and some friend and family time while you grill up your favorite dish on your 6 burner gas grill. Please note that while the views are truly amazing, there is not direct access from the property down to the water. There is also a dock on the property. However, due to insurance liabilities, the dock is NOT part of your Rivah House visit, and is off limits to guests. The Rivah House is less than a 5 minute walk to the community beach, Sharks Tooth beach, and a short 5 minute drive to the community beach at Lake Independence - perfect for kayaking, fishing and sunbathing. The Host looks forward to visitors enjoying their time here on the Neck.

We totally enjoyed our stay in Dales rivah house. The view was incredibly amazing! I felt like we in a boat on the water. Dales house was clean and he is detailed oriented. He thought of everything from a well stocked kitchen to games for the kids as well as clean bath towels, sheets, etc. My grandson enjoyed beating us in foosball..😉. We enjoyed exploring and hiking the parks. Dale was really great at responding to my questions. We truly had the best Thanksgiving with our family. There is no doubt we would stay there again!

A great weekend
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Dale was great at communicating about the property. The views are incredible and there is a nice beach within 5 minutes walk where my son and I enjoyed looking for shark teeth and other fossils. We would definitely return and recommend to others looking for a quiet escape by the water.

Loved Staying at Rivah House!
If you are planning a visit to the Northern Neck of Virginia, do yourself a favor and book Rivah House for your stay. It's a great place, and just a short drive to a lot of places to see and things to do. The views of the Potomac from the upper and lower levels were amazing. One evening we were even able to see the Milky Way when sitting out on the upper deck. The house was spotlessly clean, and well furnished/decorated with a beachy feel. The host was great; very responsive and focused on making sure you have everything you need to enjoy your stay.

Wonderful Getway!
My husband, son, and I just spent a long weekend at Dale's wonderful home. The pictures do not do the view justice! The house was clean and had everything we needed. The binder the owners left with information and recommendations was a wonderful touch. The bottom porch has a rain guard installed which allowed us to remain dry but watch the first thunderstorm of the deason roll through. Rocking on the bench swing, having coffee and watching the sun come up was pure relaxation! Literally the only thing that would make staying here better would be the ability to fish off the dock (off-limits for insurance reasons, which is absolutely understandable). As some other reviews mentioned, everything is at least a 15-20 minute drive; but being away from it all can be a good thing! The community beach, aptly named Shark Tooth Beach, is a quick walk down the road. Maybe the big storm the day we arrived stirred up the sand a bunch, but we found more than 50 sharks teeth in our few days there! I've never seen anything like it. There is access to a lake as well, but we didn't make it there or to the playground. Dale was super responsive to any message sent. All in all a very relaxing wonderful weekend. Would absolutely stay here again. Thank you Dale!

Accurate VRBO Description of the Property
Great, relaxing view of the Potomac River. The house is well maintained. There are plenty of amenities in the house. Great to have the option of bringing our own bedding. More listings should offer this option. The owner's instructions were detailed and clearly written, and kept in an organized binder on the coffee table.
