Decorated with an Up North feel you will be able to relax and feel right at home. This lake front home has enough room for up to 11 people and the area has something for everyone. There is a fire pit near the water, there is sand beach along the lakeshore and the lake has a sand bottom with a gradual taper to deep water as well. Brevort lake is a 4400 acre all sports lake surrounded by the Hiawatha National forest. You are not far from I-75 or US-2 and it is a central location for day trips to Sault Ste. Marie, Tahquamenon Falls, Mackinac Island, Mackinaw city or the Pictured Rocks. It is a perfect location for hiking, biking, fishing and outdoor lovers, North Country Trail access is right there and there are 1000' s of acres of State and Federal Forest right out your door. If you are looking for quiet relaxation and a family friendly atmosphere this is the cottage for you. (You have to climb a flight of stairs because the home is on the 2nd story.) The pictures online did not do this place justice. The beach was pleasant and the lake was very accommodating for swimming and fishing and kayaking. The cabin itself was comfortable, clean and more spacious than we expected. We had a group of six and had more than enough space. The host were pleasant and easily reached for any needs that we had. They also were very generous with information to help us enjoy our stay even more! St Ignace is about half an hour drive for shopping. The property is on large and quiet Brevort Lake with hard packed sandy bottom and shallow depth; great for jet skis, kayaking, swimming, and fishing. It’s within one mile of access to the North Country Trail, ATV trails are practically across the street, Lake Michigan is a 10 minute drive away, St Ignace is about 20 miles away, and Tahquamenon/Sault St Marie within an hour’s drive. Jon and Teri are very kind, and available without being intrusive. The deck area provides a fantastic view and a great place to hang out, while the inside is open and bright. Our large family had a wonderful time and we appreciate the fact that Jon and Teri were willing to accommodate us. (Be aware that there are 21 steps to get upstairs to the actual unit. A lovely place in a great location with caring owners and would rent again. Things done well: good communication w/ owner, clean, in good condition, comfortable and great location/property. Things needed (in our opinion): mattresses (a couple of them need replacing), paper goods (IE, they don't provide toilet paper/paper towels, which to us was unusual). Cottage is just as described. Everything you might need is provided. Beach is sandy as is the lake bottom. Very suitable for small children. The lake is very large with very little boat traffic. Size was as advertised, and well supplied for all water activities. Owner lives next door and does use downstairs for storage and workshop; very responsive with any and all issues we had, including a forgotten much loved stuffy that he sent with haste to our young kiddo. The bedding and towels could do with a refresh, but all were clean and serviceable. Cabin was very clean and supplied with adequate bedding, towels, etc. Host is very accommodating.
