Great hotel, lovely staff with great amenities. It would have been better if breakfast had been included.

Our stay at SLS Baha Mar had both positives and negatives. Overall, we had a wonderful family vacation and made great memories, but the service issues stood out because they did not match the expectations of a luxury resort at this price point. The property itself is beautiful with incredible amenities, but the service was extremely inconsistent. While we encountered some amazing employees, those experiences were the exception. Many interactions involved poor attitudes, lack of urgency, and little attention to guests. For example, ordering a simple breakfast of a croissant and two yogurt parfaits (nearly $60), the cashier responded with “What do you want?” in a very dismissive tone. At Baha Bay, Guest Services gave directions without the employee even looking up from her phone. We also had to call four times for ice delivery, which cut into our beach time, and housekeeping did not arrive until almost 4 p.m. We paid for an ocean view room but did not receive an actual ocean view, and the front desk showed little interest in resolving it. We also had restaurant reservation issues where no one took ownership to help fix the problem. We do not mind spending money on vacations—the issue was paying luxury prices while receiving service that did not match. On the positive side, the food quality was excellent, towels were easy to get with no extra charge, and Baha Bay Water Park was a highlight for our 3½-year-old daughter. It was clean, well maintained, and had lifeguards throughout

The grounds and beach are beautiful. It was difficult to find food at the resort which made the whole experience less than ideal - it is difficult to enjoy an experience when you are hungry. It seemed, for the amount of people at the resort, there was not enough accommodations. Not just for food options, but also for comfortable shaded seating - there was also no fans or coolers in the open areas where you spend the majority of time while at the resort. I think the resort is leaving a lot of money on the table by not having more accessible food options - also lacks in cultural options and I felt like I was still in America. I don’t think most people want to order room service and it’s sad to admit that an American shake shack restaurant may have been one of the best casual food options. For the finer dining options, it was near impossible to get a reservation and trying to dine without a reservation was a long waiting process. The room was kept clean but seemed outdated. There was a speaker on the ceiling that made a constant cracking noise which was disruptive to getting restorative sleep. The main highlights of the trip was seeing the dolphins and going to the beach. The snorkeling was canceled which was a big disappointment and the water park was overcrowded with not enough comfortable seating for guests. Every where had a long line and overall did not meet the expectations with regard to value. If you are considering this as a vacation, I would recommend Hawaii
