  • Charming beadboard farm home in the Blue Ridge Mountains on the base of historic Skull Camp Mountain and ten miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Blue Ridge Parkway Music Center (https://www.blueridgemusiccenter.org/) is about 20 minutes north of our property. Galax NC is about 25 minutes away and hold a fiddlers convention (https://www.oldfiddlersconvention.com/). Wilkesboro NC is about 50 minutes away and holds the Merlefest (https://merlefest.org/). Mount Airy NC is about 20 minutes away and holds many fun "Mayberry" events (https://www.visitmayberry.com/events/). Our home is a peaceful environment with solitude and yet easy access to I-77 and historic towns Mount Airy, Pilot Mountain, Elkin, Wilkesboro NC and Galax VA. In a step back in time the home is bordered by fields and hundreds of acres of forested mountain land. We are within 30 minutes to several vineyards, including 4 miles to Round Peak vineyard and 14 miles to Shelton vineyard. Birdwatching stations. Amenities include high speed fiber optics internet. The upstairs "loft" is a fun room equipped with a home theatre with projection tv.

Hosts were very accommodating! Well stocked property with everything you could need if you forgot something at home. The property is gorgeous and we spent lots of time just relaxing on the front porch watching the thunderstorms. If I lived in the states this is a property I could see myself visiting year after year!

Great Stay

Everything was clean and was furnished with everything we needed for our great stay. We were close enough to Mt. Airy and other places that we were able to explore. We would definitely recommend the Farm House to anyone who likes country life but close to town also.

Great Place to Stay

I was so impressed with the quietness and homeiness of the home. I have stayed there before and that is why I booked it again. This place is great for one or family! The owners are wonderful people who really care about your stay with them and seek to please you in every way.

Family Get Away

We loved staying at this property as a family. We spent a couple nights on a road trip home and really enjoyed the quiet and peaceful area. We met Ernie on our first day and he was very friendly and helpful! Would definitely recommend to anyone heading to this area or looking for a few days away somewhere!

Relaxing Getaway Stay!

We loved everything about the property and the hosts - Ernie and Sarah were as good as it gets. Loved the location and amenities and felt like a "home-away-from-home". Spacious areas and the outdoor fire pit is exactly what you want to come back to after a long day exploring the area. Would absolutely stay here again in the future....thank you both for making this getaway weekend so special!

Trip to “Mayberry”

This farmhouse is precious! Most peaceful relaxing trip we have had with our parents who are in their 80’s!! Enjoyed the downtown tours shopping and eating! Best was going back to the farmhouse and sitting on the great front porch!

Our stay here was perfect. Everything we needed was there. The beds are very comfy and the house was clean and nicely decorated. We felt right at home. We saw a deer one morning. It is so peaceful and quiet sitting outside looking at the mountains in the back yard while sipping your coffee. We will absolutely return.

Mount Airy Trip

We really needed to get away for awhile! This was the perfect setting, so Cozy when we arrived with the House lit up with lights welcoming us in on a very Cold Night. When we walked in and saw the Beautiful Christmas Tree, we knew it was going to be a Great Trip.

Peaceful and no frills

Plenty of space out back for the pup to roam supervised (as there is still a but of traffic on the road out front). Home has all you need, and lots of space. Love that it was dog friendly.

Lovely farmhouse in a great location

The farmhouse is beautiful and in a great location. It’s close to Mount Airy, but in a peaceful country setting. We really enjoyed the coffee station and large kitchen. We also had a great time hanging out around the fire pit in the back yard. The owners were very responsive and checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed and that we were happy!

Peaceful Getaway

House was inviting and provided a private space to enjoy a short get away with friends. We enjoyed the fire pit and private grounds. The house was immaculately clean. The bedrooms were set up for privacy. The kitchen was well stocked. Enjoyed afternoon cocktails on the front porch.
