“We had a late check in around 10pm, the staff is so friendly once we walked in the hotel. This Hampton has rated the best Hampton in the nation for the past 5 years and I totally agree with the rating. The room is clean and big, the morning breakfast area is very comfortable (the food are ok). Basically it's a great hotel. The only 2 downsides are: (1) sound proof not too good (2) the pool is really tiny But it is a great stay, except for the price is a little high (we paide US$220 per night)”

“Pros: The property manager (Mckayla) was attentive, kind, and quick to respond. The place was clean, the A/C was ice cold (awesome for sleep and after going to the beach), the couch was super comfortable, and there was a balcony for me to enjoy my morning coffee on. The kitchen area had everything a person could need which was a nice plus. We were right across the street from the beach which made for easy coming and going at our leisure. “We liked the condo and enjoyed our stay. It was cute and cozy. You can’t see the beach from the condo but it is a very short walk to the beach. There are public beach access spots across the street. There is a rinse off shower under the building making it easy to clean up before heading ba k up to the condo. We enjoyed getting to sit out on the deck and eat. IThe condo was clean though a bit dated and some maintenance was lacking. Some of the ceiling fans would not work or would work at random……

“There are not enough words to say how great this property was. The owners have really gone above and beyond any expectations I would’ve had this house is fantastic. It is only a couple blocks from the beach not that I had a chance to go there and the area is, loaded with things to do. I would stay there over and over and over again. ”

“In town to spend Christmas with our daughter and family. We didn’t spend a lot of time at the condo but it was comfy when we did. There was plenty of room, well furnished, and clean. Enjoyed the balcony view of the ocean- perfect for watching the sunrise! Close to grocery stores and several restaurants/pubs with good food. Will have no problem staying here again. ”

Brookgreen Gardens as we know it today was conceived by philanthropists Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington. He was the heir to a railroad fortune, and she was a famous sculptor raised by parents who instilled in her a love for art and nature. They married in 1923, when she was already an established sculptor.  In the late 1920s, Anna was taken ill by tuberculosis and they traveled to South Carolina in search of a warmer climate to aid her recovery. Here, they fell deeply in love with the beauty of the lowcountry; they purchased the nearly 10,000 acres from the Waccamaw River to the Atlantic Ocean that once made up the four plantations to create their winter retreat.
