Poolside Escape was the perfect accommodation for our 10 person family getaway (6 adults & 4 children). The location was central to all that the area has to offer and it was great to come 'home' to a relaxing pool. Check-In/Check-Out process was smooth and straightforward.
Our family had a wonderful stay at Poolside escape. This house was centrally located to Muskegon and Grand Haven. It’s a short drive to PJ Hoffmaster State park, and we had a wonderful day on the beach that’s located in this park. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy fun in the sun. It was nice to go back home and enjoy a quiet evening and swim in the beautiful pool.
Great pool short drive from Lake Michigan and downtown Muskegon
This house is about the pool. Great in ground pool and patio! Inside is clean and simple. Photos are pretty accurate.
Great coffee house/bakery within walking distance.
Only notes I would share is don’t plan on having an adult in the top bunks of the bunk beds. It’s very close to the ceiling. And bring extra camp chairs, you will want them for the living room and backyard for around the pool or fire pit.
Nice house overall, beds were comfy, house was clean. Landscaping needs a lot of work, backyard consisted of dirt & weeds. Pool was clean. Basement was nice with a great bathroom, upstairs bathroom needs remodeled and it would definitely be a plus for another couch or two in the gathering areas. One couch for 8 of us didn’t make for comfy movie watching & sadly we had a lot of rainy weather. Good location, close to everything but on a busy road so a little noisy & hard to back out. At least 3 nice beaches within 10-20 min drive.
The place was great and was able to accommodate 12 people. Everything was clean and the pool was great! The location was pretty quiet, easy to access, and close to things we wanted to do.
We had a blast and the weather worked in our favor to have fun in the pool on one of our days. House was clean and everything was as listed. Thanks for a fun family getaway!
This is a great house for a family vacation! 5 full bedrooms, 2 full baths stocked with plenty of towels for everyone, and the kitchen is stocked with everything you need for cooking. We would spend all day at the beach, (Muskegon Beach just 3 miles away) and come home for dinner and swimming in the pool. This was our 5th year in a row for an extended family vacation to Lake Michigan, and it was a unanimous vote, this was the best place of them all, and we will be coming back next year!
Only complaint I have is the lack of dishtowels...and not enough towels....you have a pool and give each person one towel washcloth and hand towel...we actually had to wash towels to have enough. Otherwise it was a wonderful stay.
The house is located in area that was close to everything. It's close to the beach and downtown. It was great having the pool to relax by. We really enjoyed the ping pong table. We arrived late at night and the following morning we found the internet and electricity wasn't working in the family room. When we contacted the rental property, they were quick to respond and fixed it so we could use it during our stay. The only complaint would be that it needed vacuuming under the furniture an the bathroom shower knobs need to be repaired. Otherwise it was a great stay.

Nice pool
It was pretty much what the on line pictures showed. Pool was the best selling point and it did not disappoint. It was very clean. The bathrooms were not clean when we got there. Some of the sheets were stained. Kitchen was sparse. Glad I brought some of my own pans.Never did find pot holders. All and all we all had a great time. Neighbor was quiet for being on a busy road.
We had issues with cleanliness - most significant was some dirty/stained bedding. I contacted the owner via email the first night and informed them of the issues we observed. They were responsive to all of my messages and came within a day or so to bring new bedding and take the stained items. The pool was cloudy when we arrived but cleared a bit once my husband fixed the clogged filter, and we spent a fair amount of time swimming. The home is a short drive to beautiful beaches. There were some "rougher" neighborhoods east of the home, but nothing that created issues for us at the home. We found plenty to do/eat in surrounding areas like North Muskegon and Grand Haven. I would just recommend families take time to understand the area before traveling. The neighbors were very quiet and the pool area is private. We went to the beaches to walk around at least once a day, and walked to the lighthouses. We ate at Station Grille and Dockside Donuts and would recommend both as good local options.
While the location of the home was convenient we had issues regarding the pools cleanliness. We were informed the pool was cleaned the day we arrived. However, the water was very cloudy and you could not see the bottom of the pool. The management confirmed they spoke with the company and it was cleaned. Unfortunately when we did attempt to swim we found lots of debris, trash and toys. The pool never did clear up and we never received any follow up communication when we sent photos of the trash and debris we found.
We also found popsicle wrappers in one of the beds and the power to the garage was shut off.
Overall the house was nice and served our family for our stay, we were just overall disappointed in the state of the pool and lack of follow up with our concerns.
