You'll be spoiled for sightseeing choice when visiting Downtown Ulaanbaatar. National Amusement Park is a great place to start here, but there are many other worthwhile attractions to enjoy. There was a fire at the hotel, but it was not evacuated properly. At 1am, there were people in the restaurant/bar area, hanging out in the lobby and in their rooms. There was no fire alarm. Instead, we got a phone call telling us there was a fire. There were 3 firetrucks, 2 hoses going in through the lobby and one extension ladder at the 12th floor, but the staff encouraged us to stay inside to get out of the cold. Seemed very unsafe considering there was a room on fire.

Room was great: nice amenities and very clean. Gym facilities were clean with well-maintained equipment. Breakfast buffet had a good selection and was fresh. Staff was pleasant and helpful.

The Wedding Palace is not a religious place. It's where many people get married before moving on to a reception centre. The ger in the grounds is a symbol of the nomadic culture. A ger door will always face south. #ger #Details The strong Mongolian light draws the eye to the wedding ger. In a small area on downtown Ulaanbaatar you can capture the old and the new in architecture.

When I first arrived in UB there was a pretty ordinary shed cluttering up the square with this dinosaur head popping out. The story inside of the rescued dinosaur skeleton was well told and fascinating. #dinosaurs
