Friendly, liveable, pretty, not the cosiest
We had a good stay at Trenance Court. I would perhaps recommend to friends and family in the warmer months but the heating was too inconsistent for the cooler months. Here are the main points: Pros: - Friendly and bright aesthetic, very much a seaside theme - Clean property - Lovely private feeling - Owners just a phone call away - Fully equipped working kitchen - Beautiful lake just across the road with a cafe and pedal boats for hire - Nice short walk into Newquay proper - Dedicated parking spot just outside Cons: - Listing amenities mention a dryer- there is a washing machine and a drying rack, to be clear. - Heated by several electric heaters located around the flat. One of them (closest to the door) emitted a faint burning smell when active so we avoided using it. Heating is inconsistent and either becomes extremely muggy or ice cold. We would wake up at least once a night to adjust the heating. - Towels looked crisp and clean but we both noticed they gave off a very strong damp smell- it might be time to purchase new towels for the property. - The boiler, though it seems to work just fine, appears to supply just about enough hot water for one good shower per 1.5 hours. It posed quite the difficulty when we both wanted a nice hot shower after an ice cold sleep. On the whole, I would characterise it as a good stay and a good base to explore Newquay.

Thank you for your review. We're happy you enjoyed your stay. We're sorry you had issues with the heating. I'm not sure why that would happen as all heaters have been tested & are thermostatically controlled. We stayed there ourselves the week prior to your arrival & had no issues. We left the heaters set at 15 degrees all week & the apartment was warm the whole time. The instructions are left in the welcome folder & we do ask guests to contact us if they have any issues for anything. The amenities in our listing shouldn't mention a dryer as there isn't one. We do state though that there is a maiden should anyone wish to do any washing. I'm sorry you found the towels had a damp smell. I don't know why this would happen as they were all replaced in November, I will look into this. We are aware that the immersion heater is only small for the hot water. We have found that if the hot water is left on all the time, there is enough for 2 showers. We are however, looking at installing an electric shower. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay regardless.

Very comfortable stay in beautiful surroudings
The property was very clean and comfortable with a balcony overlooking a boating lake and beautiful surroundings. The decor was lovely and we had everything we needed for a very pleasant stay.

Very clean, well-equipped apartment in a convenient safe location
The apartment had everything we need for a week’s stay. It was clean and well decorated and came with soft fluffy towels. Prime location next to a quiet lake. Nice restaurant next to the lake. Another nice restaurant near the garden next to the lake. 30 minutes walk to Tolcarne Beach and Great Western Beach. Sofa bed was a little hard and the apartment was on the second level and quite a walk from the carpark. It was not a problem for our young family but something to note as this may not suitable for everyone.

Thank you for your lovely review. We love the location too as it's peaceful and a great base to travel or walk to anywhere. The sofa bed isn't used much and is relatively new, so we do supply a mattress topper, but, hopefully it'll soften with time.

NIce apartment, great location
This apartment is nice and well equipped. The exterior of the complex is a little shabby, but it is very well maintained inside. The location is excellent - very convenient for getting away from Newquay to explore the rest of the county, whilst still being close enough to walk in to the town (albeit with a significant hill). Having the park directly opposite the property was lovely.

Very good inside but three flights of steps to get to the apartment. Outdoor sensor light did not work. This had not been fixed from previous comments. Overall a nice place to stay.

Beautiful apartment but lots of stairs
This apartment was wonderful! Overlooking the boating lake in Newquay. Very well appointed with the exception of toilet paper. I had to duck out to buy some as soon as I arrived. There are quite a few stairs to access the apartment, but once you are there, it is fantastic.

Great Location
Second stay at this lovely apartment which was very clean and well equipped. Far enough outside of Newquay to be away from the crowds but close enough to walk should you not want to take the car. Minor problem when we 1st arrived but after a phone call to Sharon this was swiftly sorted. Thank you for a lovely stay 😊

There wasn't as many steps as I thought there would be leading up the apartment I was expecting hundreds there was only 2 flights it's wasn't bad at all. My review of Lakeside Apartments
The property is in a great location but unfortunately there were a few issues that let it down. 1. Bath was dirty, it scum marks and pubic heir left in the bottom of it. 2. We were unable to have a bath due the bath plug not working. It needs repairing / replacing. 3. Toilet seat loose. 4. Toilet roll holder is loose. 5. Temperature of the hot water is to high, it needs turning down. It can be dangerous if you are elderly and a child using the shower / sink / kitchen sink. 6. Hob is very slow heating pans up and needs replacing. I had to download the instructions to work out how to use it, because the marking around the knobs had worn away. 7. The frying pan need replacing due to being warped and not seating on the hob properly. I t is dangerous to use. 8. Outside light on the balcony does not work. 9. Its great to have an iron but it is no good without a ironing board. 10. There is no where to put the dishes after you have washed them up due to not having a dish drainer. 11. There a chipped plates and cups that need replacing. 12. Dust on the cabinets in the lounge and table legs dusty. 13. Table top dirty. 14. Thick dust under the sofa's. 15. Under the bed was dirty, bed probably has not been moved in years. 16. Under the toilet bowl had dried urine down the side of it. 17. Toilet brush had not been cleaned properly there was poo on the brush and it does need replacing. 18. Shower rail rusty needs replacing. 19. Shower rail hooks dirty need replacing. 20. Shower curtain was mouldy. 21. Unable to use on of the seats on the balcony due it being broken.

We are very disappointed to read your comments. We did have someone go to the apartment and check everything you have listed. They found no issues with the toilet seat, the toilet roll holder isn't lose although it moves ever so slightly due to the design of it and has done from the day it was fitted, it is secure to the wall though. The temperature of the hot water has been turned down to the lowest it can possibly be without turning it off completely, hence why we have caution hot water signs above the sinks. The hob is only 6 years old and due to being electric it takes longer than gas and the instructions of how to use it are in the welcome folder along with the location of the ironing board, which I can confirm is definitely still there. We are going to replace the shower rail with a white one as we know being in a bathroom chrome fittings can become rusty. If you had of contacted us we would have sent someone to re dust the apartment and check the toilet for stains along with all your other issues. The bed was moved and cleaned under by ourselves as we was there a couple of months ago to re paint the whole apartment. The frying pan was also checked and found to be fine and was sitting perfectly flat. The pots are usually placed on the sink as a free standing drainer is a breeding ground for germs so we decided not have one. Also, if you had of contacted us about the balcony chair we would have replaced it straight away, however this was left for the next guests who did contact us and it was replaced on the same day. Unfortunately with such short notice we was unable to purchase the same chair. The balcony light isn't working and we are currently trying to find an electrician who can fix it, which is proving very difficult. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about dust settling once the apartment has been cleaned. However, we do tell guests if they have any issues to contact us and we will sort it out so we are very disappointed at such a bad review considering you made no attempt to contact us at all.

Fabulous holiday
Lovely flat in a great location, two adults and two children staying, sofa bed very comfortable! Just a couple of extras would have been appreciated, towel holder in bathroom and some washing up liquid! Lots of steps to walk up but they were perfectly safe even in the rain but a bit of a bummer having to carry suitcases up. Thanks for a lovely stay

The apartment was ok , I sadly woud not stay again ,firstly after climbing what seemed like mount everest with all the stairs I expected a few stairs but there were loads and I have a bad bk we approached apartment over glass walkway which was very slippery and dangerous when wet and actually nearly lost my footing a few times as soon as we walked in we cud snell mildew which there was on tje bathroom window , we went and got air fresher to cover the smell, we cud not use freezer as it was just iced up and had things left in it , the sofa bed kept coming open so we cud not sit on it , the other sofa was great bit on.aekesrd position to look at tv , the shower was really powerful which is great but tje shower head would not stay straight , the balcony was lovely with lovey views off tje countryside and boating lake , really sorry to have had to write this I don't normally bother but we were very disappointed

If you had of contacted us to inform us of these problems we could have sorted them, other than the stairs unfortunately there is nothing we can do about those. The glass walkway isn't usually slippery when wet as it has a coating on it to prevent this. I'm sorry you found the other sofa to be in an awkward position but no one has ever mentioned this to us but if they had, we would have swapped it round. We go out of way to help our guests, but we do need to be contacted so we can help. If we had have know of any of these issues we would have been able to send someone round to sort them out. We are sorry you were disappointed as we are too.

The flat has lovely views and is well situated in Newport, being very close to the zoo and other attractions and a decent walk away from beaches. This means it is quieter than the town center, and the lake it overlooks is lovely. There are several sections of steps to the flat which is fine for us. The parking is on site which is great, ideal for a small car.

Booking was easy and communication from the owner was excellent. The apartment was perfect for us, had everything we needed and was in a lovely location overlooking the lake, it was a good base for exploring Cornwall but also easy to get to the town, bus and train stations. The apartment was well furnished; lovely and modern and plenty of towels and bedding provided. Parking on site was fine with a numbered bay, but if you have a larger vehicle it may be a little tight. We would definitely return on our next trip to Cornwall.

Absolute gem of a property - highly recommended
Visited for a short stay in May. Lovely place for our base to visit several areas (Eden project / Lands End / St Ives). Sharon the owner was very responsive to any questions. Accommodation immaculate with benefits of parking , quiet location but only a short walk to the main eateries in Newquay in the evening. Will certainly look to visit again - thank you!
