Spacious

Great location. Great communication. Plenty of space. 15 second walk to both the Temple and underground parking. Restaurants, groceries and patisserie all within 200-300 meters.

A marvelous true home in a superb location

The Diva apartment is comfortable, well-equipped, and spacious, but it also has a rich feeling and reality of being a welcoming, comforting home. Gordon is a most responsive, communicative, and friendly host. You can spend days just relaxing and gazing out the huge windows, or walk a few minutes to a terrific array of Roman buildings, museums, restaurants, and lovely sublic squares.

Beautiful apartment in perfect location

This beautiful and spacious apartment is ideally located in Nimes, with easy access to museums, town squares and the Roman temple and colosseum. The host is very welcoming and knowledgeable.

A Fun Place to Stay

Gordon's Opera Inspired apartment is certainly quirky, but that just adds to the fun of the visit. It is perfectly located for easy access to all the key locations in Nimes. Gordan and Claudine were great to deal with. A great choice when visiting Nimes.

A most charming and comfortable home in Nimes

Diva is spacious, light, well equipped, charmingly and richly decorated with opera memorabilia, terrifically well located, and a true home. We stayed for weeks and got more comfortable every day; some days hanging out, eating great food from the wonderful covered market, other days coming back content after excellent restaurant experiences. Gordon is a superb host, thoughtful and helpful in every way possible. This is not just a good place to stay, it's a hard place to leave!

Lovely Apartment..

If you love opera and the arts this apartment is for you...even if you don't it's a great place to stay while in Nimes! Everything you need is right here! The location couldn't have been more perfect...steps to everything in the center of this amazing town! But the best part of this apartment is the host Gordon! He's attentive, interesting and fun! Highly recommend this apartment.

Apartment with Character

The apartment itself was worth visiting with its motifs of opera & ballet. Lots of character to the ambiance. It’s in a great location. Gordon meet us and explained all to us. Lots of shopping, groceries & restaurants nearby. As well as Roman amphitheater, and temple. Beds were very comfortable, lots of hot water and pressure. Parking was a breeze with a multi day pass, convenient to use and easy to obtain.

Wonderful

This is a fine, spacious apartment in an excellent location. The owner has decorated it tastefully and has equipped it to meet any traveler’s needs. The best part of this apartment is its location. Less than a block’s walk will bring you to the Maison Carrée. Another five minutes will take you to the Arena. The old quarter of Nîmes is well supplied with excellent restaurants for all tastes. The owner is genial and always available and really takes pride in this rental. If you’re visiting Nîmes, this is where you want to stay.

A Week at the Opera

Every aspect of the apartment pointed to Gordon's love of the opera - from the photos and posters on the walls, to the red and gold curtains in the hall and bedrooms. The beds were comfortable; the kitchen functional (we cooked a lot of meals); the living room spacious with really comfortable couch and chairs. Nîmes is a relatively small town and this location was central. The highlight was the Les Halles market just a few blocks away. Our only complaint was the Wi-Fi only worked in the living room/dining room area.

Best possible location

Diva Nimes has the elegance and charm of a bygone era, with its’ spacious rooms, fanciful decor, and impressively high ceilings. There was plenty of space for us, a couple who both needed private work space as well as living space. The multiple bedrooms imply that a much larger group could be accommodated, but I must point out that there is only a single toilet. Like many grand dames, the apartment is showing her age a bit in wear and tear, but nothing that would keep me from giving it a high recommendation. This is because the location is beyond superb. Walk in any direction from the front door and you will be at a major attraction within minutes, if not seconds. This proximity greatly added to our enjoyment of discovering and exploring the delightful city of Nimes.

Comfortable and full of character but too noisy for me

The Diva apartment was largely as represented in the photos and description, and was, in many ways, comfortable and well equipped. I was pleasantly greeted by the owner who provided a tour and a welcome basket of fresh fruit, baguette and other treats.The beds were comfortable and a closet-full of linens made hosting a few visiting friends easy. However, the apartment does need some maintenance, especially several of the French windows and shutters, some of which appear to be warped and will no longer close securely. Minor deficiencies such as loose floor tiles, non-functioning lights, a stained, old kitchen sink, no window coverings in the bathroom, etc also let the place down. The kitchen required a thorough scrub when I arrived and, while it's nice not to have to run out and buy olive oil and other staples on arrival, near-empty bottles of salad dressings and preserves with "best before" dates of three years earlier went straight into the garbage. In fact, garbage was a problem too as, unlike most French apartment buildings, there was no room for garbage and recycling. While there were a few public receptacles in the passageway next door, they were usually full and one had to walk around the downtown area in search of others. But the biggest let-down was the street noise, both the busy main road in front and from the passage beside, which was a main pedestrian route into the large underground parking lot, including large groups of drunk students.

Comfortable and roomy home, well located for exploring Nimes and the surrounding countryside

The Diva Apartment is more then just an apartment - for us it became a home for three weeks as we explored Nimes and the surrounding countryside during the Christmas and New Years holidays. The apartment was far larger and more comfortable than usual in Europe; the rooms were large and well laid out. The memory foam mattresses were far beyond our expectation and provided an excellent night's sleep. The kitchen was large enough and equipped well for preparing any meal - we used it virtually every morning and evenings to prepare our meals with no problem. The living room and dining room were well situated for our family gatherings. The owner, Gordon, went out of his way to ensure we had a comfortable stay - even providing a Christmas tree for the holidays. Beyond the comfortable apartment with a very helpful owner, the Diva could not be better situated. Stepping out of the building you look left at a 2 thousand year old Roman Temple, just ahead is a modern art gallery and the historic center of town is across the street.The train and bus station is a 15 minute walk past the exceptional historic Roman Arena, past a dozen or so cafes. The market is several blocks to your left and is filled with a large selection of shops providing meat, fish, produce, cheese, bread, pastry, wine, spices and about anything you could want for your day's meals - what a wonderful way to start your day - along with coffee and pastry. Nimes is an unexpectedly delightful city, easily explored on foot and with a well thought out and modern bus system. The historic center of Nimes is just out the the door of the Diva and worth the time strolling the narrow lanes visiting the historic sites and many shops. The insightful city leadership created a clean, well run city and the Diva is a prefect place to explore it and the countryside. From the Diva's location we were able to visit Avignon, Arles, Montpellier, Aigues-Mortes and the incredible Pont du Gard all by trains or buses while still sleeping for a leisurely morning. No car is needed but if you have one parking is just around the corner and underground. If you want to rent a car they are easily obtained from the train station. My daughters, my wife and I left Nimes with some regret, we loved our visit and the Diva as our home for a short while. We will be back and highly recommend the Diva for any stay in Nimes - the accommodations, location and value for the money can't be beat.

Die Lage ist fantastisch! Direkt in der Innenstadt. Allerdings ist das Parken sehr teuer!

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, sehr sympathische zuvorkommende Vermieter! Der wackelnde Klodeckel hat für viel Heiterkeit gesorgt! Sollte vielleicht mal ausgetauscht werden. 🤔

Lovely apartment in the heart of Nimes

Gordon and Claudine were lovely hosts, communication was great and they met us at the apartment when we arrived and gave us a full tour :) The apartment is a tribute to their love of opera, every wall has images of singers and productions. It's a very grand place! The apartment had everything we needed. Only slight negative to be noted was the lack of air-conditioning, which made it toasty at night when the temperature was reaching 40 degrees during the day. Right in the centre of Nimes, 10 minutes' stroll through the town to the amphitheatre, with all the shops, bars and restaurants nearby. Highly recommend!

Stayed during the Music festival

The property is in a great area to access the centre of Nimes and all the Historic sights. There is no air con and some shutters don't work so it does get very warm during late June It is a city location so it is noisy and extra noisy during the music festival, however this is part of the cultural experience.

Four nights in Nimes

By far, the most unique and memorable place we stayed in France. The location was perfect for exploring the city as well as being an excellent base for our days trips. Parking was very convenient, but not free.

Nimes Apartment

Great location and a lot of space. There is parking but it is city parking which you must pay for. We spoke with the manager in the parking and he showed us how to get a discount ticket if staying longer than one night. We enjoyed the closeness to all things important in Nimes. I loved having the washer and dryer as well. The host is always available and helpful!

Wunderschöne Wohnung im Zentrum von Nîmes

Schon unser zweiter Aufenthalt! Die Wohnung ist ideal gelegen, fast alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind zu Fuß zu erreichen, gute Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten liegen direkt um die Ecke. Auch als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge bestens geeignet. Handtücher und auch warme Bettdecken für die kühlere Jahreszeit sind in ausreichender Menge vorhanden. Die Wohnung ist liebevoll eingerichtet und dekoriert. Der Kontakt zum Eigentümer ist besonders nett.

Delightful apartment in Nimes

Diva-Nimes is a beautiful and unique place to stay in Nimes. Everything of top interest is in walking distance. The famous Halles market is steps away. Highly recommended.

Supplément d'âme

Que dire pour ne pas répéter ce qui a déjà été écrit... Nous ne pouvons que nous associer à ce concert de louanges. Séjourner à "Diva Nîmes", c'est se laisser glisser dans un univers parallèle. Nous avons ainsi vécu dans ce lieu une semaine hors du temps en compagnie de Puccini, La Callas, Noureïev... Gordon a su donner à cet immense appartement une âme, celle de l'opéra, mais il est aussi doté de tous les équipements et le confort nécessaires, enfin sa situation est centrale. Il a bien, si l'on en cherche, quelques défauts, mais ils ne sont rien en comparaison de ses innombrables Merci encore à Gordon, hôte d'une générosité et d'une courtoisie hors pair.
