“This is a former "palace" (really a chateau), which has been converted to a hotel. It is in an isolated location. We called ahead, and they kept the dining room open for almost 1/2 an hour until we arrived!! The staff was extremely helpful. Our room was very large, with a very high ceiling, but was very sparsely and cheaply furnished. The plumbing was bizarre- the room bathroom had two taps, and both delivered very hot water. (I let a glass stand overnight so that I would have room……
“Staff were very kind and courteous. The spa treatments were great, we got them at the Irma spa and they were lovely. We did the mirror pool and mud pool + short massage, which made the trip worth it. The area itself is really beautiful, green and nice to walk around / have a drink. Also there are restaurants nearby in town which are really nice. Overall a nice trip but the other reviews are right that the property itself is dated. First impression on arrival wasn’t great but stay was nice……
