About this property

Riverside house on a Duck River ranch: fishing lake, horses, covered deck

  • The River House is a 4-bedroom, 3-bath home on Riverbend Ranch, a working cattle ranch on the Duck River in Normandy, Tennessee. It sleeps 8 and sits on its own at the edge of the woods, surrounded by open pasture.

Inside, the great room has a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams, a stone fireplace, hardwood floors and a leather sectional. It opens to a full kitchen with a large island, stainless steel appliances, a beverage fridge and a wall of windows, and to a farmhouse dining table with seating for the whole group. The two primary bedrooms on the main floor have a king bed and a queen bed. Upstairs, one bedroom has a king and the other has two full beds. There is a laundry room with a washer, dryer and sink.

Outside, a covered deck with a ceiling fan, outdoor seating and a grill looks into the trees.

Your stay includes use of the ranch, shared with other guests staying on the property: over a mile of Duck River frontage for fishing, kayaking and floating, a stocked lake and ponds (bass, bluegill and catfish, catch and release, no license needed; the river requires a Tennessee license), a basketball court, BB gun range and fitness center. Meet the horses and cattle over the fence. A riverside bonfire pit is available on request.

Streaming TV over WiFi, no cable. Paved road to the ranch, gravel roads on the property.

Just over an hour from Nashville and BNA. About 30 minutes to Jack Daniel`s in Lynchburg and Nearest Green in Shelbyville. Groceries are about 15 minutes away.

Riverbend Ranch & Retreat is a nonprofit, and your stay helps fund no-cost retreats for pastors and ministry leaders. We live on the property and are easy to reach.
No smoking. No pets. No gatherings or visitors beyond registered guests unless approved by management. Maximum 8 guests. Check-in is 3 pm and check-out is 11 am. Quiet hours are 10 pm to 7 am.
