"Everything was very well taken care of except the pool building which was an awful first impression of the property since it is the first thing you see upon arrival. Rotten and decaying siding and what isn’t is In need of repainting. A sharp contrast to the rest of the buildings and grounds which were beautiful."

"The cabin was clean and offered a nice relaxing location. There was a front porch with rocking chairs and porch swing which we enjoyed for morning coffee and evening drinks. The deck in the rear was large and roomy with comfortable chairs. A fire pit offered evening fires for quiet reflection and enjoyment. The kitchen and living areas had everything that we needed. There were even some challenging and competitive games of darts and Pac Man played downstairs. Overall, our stay was very enjoyable and relaxing which was our intent when we booked the Cozy Cabin in Cavendish."

"We enjoyed five days at this lovely modern cabin in Cavendish. We were delighted with the quiet wooded setting and the aesthetically pleasing cabin where everything from building materials to bedding were chosen with care and an eye for quality. We enjoyed the using the complimentary kayaks in Knapp Pond and using the hot tub and fire pit on cool evenings. Galleries and a farm museum in nearby Woodstock and a farmers’ market in Ludlow provided a few fun outings. Wendi provided a comprehensives booklet about the cabin and the surrounding area and answered any questions.we had promptly. We hope to come back for another stay. "
"We had an exceptional time!! Our middle daughter was graduating from Dartmouth. This spacious, historic home provided plenty of room for our extended family. The views are absolutely breathtaking!! We hosted a couple of Lydi’s friends and their families for a cookout and they raved about the location and the charm. This home is a gem!!"

driving up the mountain led my imagination back 100 years. Exposed hand hewn beams indicated age of original building.
This location is not in town, so pick up your groceries (if you're planning to make meals) en route. Coffee, cream, eggs, wine provided.

"Exceeded expectations is all we can say. Everything was accurate from the pictures to the description of the house and property. But they don’t do it justice. What a beautiful place and the view is exceptional. Our family was truly sad to leave and that includes our 2 dogs. We had a great time exploring the area which included hiking, breweries and farms. The red house was central to everything and the hosts were incredible with communication and making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. In addition, they gave us tips on places to visit which were very helpful. I cannot say it enough about how beautiful and clean the house was. Vermont is such a great place to visit and we cannot wait to return. The red house would be our first choice to stay in the future."

"This is our third stay in this beautiful place and we are already planning next year. My 10 year granddaughter said it feels like home. There was no snow predicted but we enjoyed a lovely squall. We enjoyed lots of family time and wonderful fires inside and out. Matt is very responsive and accommodating. Love our Vermont vacation!!"

"I have always had great experiences renting. this is my very first negative review. I am sorry i had to do this but others should be aware.The owner never communicated with me and never sent me the code to enter the property. I had to call VRBO/ Vacasa to complain. They were able to send me the code. When i got to the property it was clear that there was no effort made for my arrival. A few inches of snow had piled up in front of the entrance. There was also a very musty smell that hit me a few seconds after I entered the unit. But far worse, the thermostat had been set BELOW 60!! the place was freezing cold and this was not a well insulated unit. It took a few hours for the heat to make things bearable. The cold probably took my mind off musty smell.My complaints about this were met with only a sorry and we are looking into this. That was 2 weeks ago, with nothing more being said. I would never stay at this place again even if they offered me a free stay!"

"House was just as described - old and creaky, some rooms too hot and others cold, but endlessly charming, roomy, historic and perfectly located across from the market and so close to Okemo. Almost everyone in our large group had their own bathroom. The long table fit us all for dinner and games. The hosts were very responsive. It was great!"

"I brought my two boys up for a ski weekend and we found the place perfect for what we needed. Three small bedrooms, a simple kitchen and a futon to watch football on. It was a little hard to find the entrance (use the door around back) but everything worked out fine once we got in."
