Spectacular location and an absolutely charming hotel. Room was massive and breakfast was great. Top tip - if you want to eat dinner at their restaurant (and you do - delicious) make sure to book in advance. Also, if you're considering just doing a day trip to Meissen instead, don't. Stay at least two nights. This town is spectacular.

The four star Bulow Residenz is one minute walk down the road from the five star Bulow Palais. When we stayed at the Residenz the reception desk was only staffed for some of the day, so when checking out in the morning we had to walk to the Palais. It felt we were rather alone in the Residenz. But the reception member of staff at the Palais was extremely helpful and friendly and he answered all my questions.
