"We were first offered a room with bedroom upstairs. When I said I could not cope with that for health reasons, we were cheerfully offered a ground floor room instead. This one of the best motels we've ever stayed at. To find it in small town NZ was a delightful surprise. We'll be back. It deserved an excellent rating."

"The bach was very clean and well equiped.We did not need the fire, but if we had it was set and ready to light on our arrival.There were plenty of heaters to keep us warm for the cool evenings.Also plenty of warm blankets and duvets.The host Chris is very communicative and friendly.The location is ideal with lovely views of the river, and has easy access to walking tracks.Loved how this place has kept lots of its original character and been beautifully maintained."

"Lovely mountain lodge feel to the place. Cozy bar area and dinner in the restaurant was amazing. Rooms are not fancy, more basic, but a great stay overall. "

"This was our second stay at this property. As last time, the bach is super-clean, warm and comfortable with everything you need for your stay. There's off-street parking, the area is nice and quiet and the cabin is perfect for our oldest teen. Such a pretty location, we love the lake front and wee marina. The corner shop has great takeaways and anything you need to top up on. Grant and Tarsha are lovely to deal with. We'll definitely be back!"
