Western Kentucky is wonderfully endowed with fabulous things to see and do, from tourist hotspots to hidden gems that await the more intrepid traveler. War Memorial Park and Fort Campbell which are in and around Oak Grove, are worth checking out. Oak Grove, is approximately 9 miles (14 kilometers) from Pembroke. Clarksville is yet another destination worth investigating. Here you'll find the Austin Peay State University and Fort Donelson National Battlefield. Clarksville is approximately 17 miles (27 kilometers) from Pembroke.
About 55 miles (89 kilometers) to the east of Pembroke is Bowling Green, a regional center and the home of E. A. Diddle Arena, Club at Olde Stone and National Corvette Museum. Lost River Cave, Western Kentucky University and Riverview at Hobson Grove are some other attractions worth checking out for those who find themselves with time to spare.
When the sun is shining, follow the locals and head to the area's waterways for a morning of swimming or water skiing.
