About this property

Your Safe Haven in the Heart of Metropolitan Portland

Romantic farm stay in Portland with free breakfast
Enjoy a unique stay in one of Portland’s most published and celebrated home and acre garden. This serenely beautiful 19th century Queen Anne Farmhouse in the heart of Portland has been completely re-imagined by the artists and craftsmen of Lonesomeville to create a private world all it’s own. Each aspect was carefully designed and hand built to make the entire acre a unique piece of art.

Your safety is our highest concern during your stay with us. To protect you and ensure that we are providing a thoroughly sanitized environment here are a few of the procedures we are maintaining
- Your accommodations have been completely cleaned and sanitized by a 4-person crew. - All bedding has been washed including the mattress pads. All flatware, stemware, serving ware, dishes and cups have been re-cleaned and sanitized.
- We maintain a two-day buffer between guests.
- Once the house has been sanitized, no visitors are allowed to enter. If we are required to enter the house, masks are worn.

The first floor features a huge kitchen with banks of French pane windows looking out over the original farmstead and garden. A gas fireplace in the kitchen adds a warm ambiance to any evening. The kitchen also features two large service pantries with complimentary espresso, french press coffee, locally made bagels, orange juice, assorted wines, beer and other beverages. The dinning room features walls of enormous French pane widows looking onto the completely private gardens. The front rooms feature a large fireplace, comfortable seating and unique art. A large front porch, deep back porch and kitchen side sun porch round out the many ways to enjoy this amazing house.

On the second story enjoy two large bedrooms with queen and double beds, mezzanine library stocked with hand selected books, a cozy gas fireplace, side sun porch/sitting room, and completely restored bathroom with a claw foot tub/shower all carefully hand crafted.

For more than four guests or guests who would like an additional bedroom, we also offer the third floor garret nursery. This large third floor suite provides hand-planed, fir floors, sleeping alcove and a spectacular view of the grounds. Please note that because it is a garret bedroom the staircase to the third floor is particularly steep. Also, additional fees apply for use of the third floor or parties larger than 4 guests. Also, although we encourage all of our guests to enjoy the house and grounds with friends and family during their stay, additional fees may also apply to large events of over 20 guests. Please contact us if you are interested in hosting an event in the garden during your stay.

Finally, if you have any questions regarding this unique place, please read our reviews. We strive to make our guests confortable and encourage you to come and enjoy a beautiful environment where your satisfaction is our highest goal.
Guest accommodations at this farm stay offer fireplaces and DVD players. Rooms open to patios. Kitchens offer separate dining areas, cookware/dishes/utensils, and coffee/tea makers. Bathrooms include shower/tub combinations and hair dryers.

Perfect retreat
This property is stunning. The beauty of the garden areas, the detail put into every room of the house makes this property special. The house has so many great areas to sit and enjoy the garden and also invites you to go outside and enjoy the flowers. The house was well stocked with what we needed such as coffee, bagels, water and wine. The owners are available if needed and allow you and your family privacy. Great stay and we will return in the future.

Spectacular Experience
Staying at LoneSomeVille was like being swept away into a fairytale of incomparable blooming gardens, with artisan potters and woodworkers . This one-of-a-kind early 20th century restoration was clearly a labor of love and we will forever hold the memory of our week there dear. Can’t wait to return.

The best VRBO we've ever stayed at
This place is absolutely amazing...every detail is taken care of, every corner of this historic farmhouse is artful, beautiful and warm. The gardens took our breath away. We didn't want to leave! Wayne is the perfect host and we will stay there again and again.

Thanksgiving Celebration
This was a GREAT property. The gardens were fabulous, even in the fall. The house itself is a lovingly restored ancient dwelling that seems to have been transported from a fairytale. We had an amazing time. The hosts were friendly, helpful, and truly fabulous.

5/5 Excellent

This is a lovely converted old farmhouse.
This property is an old converted farmhouse with lots of charm. My wife and I stayed for two weeks while visiting our daughter, son-in-law, and two year old grandson. The owners live in a converted barn next door and were always helpful and very quickly responsive to all of our questions. The property is beautiful with beautiful flora and lots of places for us to enjoy and for our grandson, on his visits, to explore. The house itself is a nicely furbished old farmhouse, with lots of excellent pottery and art made by the owners as part of its decor. The kitchen is somewhat old style, with an old style oven, but fully functional. (No dish washer, but this is as described in its listing, and something that wasn't important to us.) Also, there were excellent coffee beans and grinder and teas left for us and ready for our use, and this was important to me. The eating spaces were nice with the main one having a lovely view out into the gardens. The two main bedrooms are comfortable. One item might have been an issue if my wife and I were taller. The shower head in the only bath/shower was just high enough for me, at 5'7" to stand up straight. The attic/3rd bedroom area is charmingly decorated in a storybook style. The neighborhood is lovely for walking and many places to eat, buy groceries, etc., are a short car ride away. Overall, this is a charming property, consistent with its description though with even more beautiful grounds then described.
