Find hotels in Potomje from $58

The best area to stay in Potomje is within the village itself, particularly near the main road (Pelješka cesta) for easy access to wineries and local establishments.

Potomje is a small, inland village located in the heart of the Pelješac Peninsula, renowned for its vineyards. The village is characterized by its rural setting, with houses often surrounded by grapevines. It's a quiet area, ideal for those looking to experience the region's winemaking tradition directly.

Couples looking for a relaxing and authentic wine-focused getaway will find Potomje to be an excellent choice. Staying here puts you within walking distance of several family-run wineries, offering cellar tours and tastings of the famous Plavac Mali wines.

The best time to visit Potomje is during the late spring (May to early June) or early autumn (September to early October) when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are smaller.

During these shoulder seasons, temperatures are comfortable for exploring the vineyards and enjoying outdoor activities without the intense heat of mid-summer. You'll find the region less crowded, allowing for a more relaxed experience at local wineries and restaurants. This period is ideal for couples seeking a peaceful getaway and wine enthusiasts looking to explore the Pelješac Peninsula without large tour groups.

The peak summer months of July and August offer the warmest weather, great for those who want to combine wine tasting with beach visits along the nearby Adriatic coast. Families might find this time appealing due to school holidays, though it's also the busiest and most expensive season.
