Although the resort and rooms were beautiful, the rooms smelled like mildew the sheets were a little damp they didn’t clean the room daily I asked for towels only for it not to come at all the resort was not lively it seems as if it was for a older crowd 60 they have no entertainment until Friday and Saturday we arrived on Tuesday so are first few days we pretty boring There was no festive music Staff was great and the food was even better. The beaches and pool were amazing 8/10 to points off due to the room and room service My friend in another room had a huge cockroach in their bed on the first night staff came and killed it and put new sheets down but they were still uneasy to due to the mildew smell and possibly more bug. We went to the desk and they upgraded there room to a swim up pool room so that was a plus Loved the country but when I return I will stay at another resort

The facility is gorgeous. There is tile everywhere which gives it an elegant feel, the staff is really great and attentive (especially Angelo, Victor, and Dominique) and the food is amazing. There’s also a lot of space on the beach for activities, with a nice area leading into the ocean. The only thing with the ocean is that we experienced a strong north-bound current, which swept us north fairly quickly. Overall, a very clean place with all the amenities you could ask for, and great people to help your stay be even better. I’d definitely stay at a Lopesan resort again.

Beautiful buildings and grounds well maintained grounds. Beach was cleaner than surrounding beaches because of currents. European / DR resort service different than what someone from the USA would expect. ie walk up to bar and expect to be ignored. If you remain calm, you will find the bartender to knows who is next. It is definitely island time here. I can definitely see pushy people getting upset here.

Guys. Run. Our room was filthy and moldy (adults only swim up room). We slept with the back door open the first night as they had nowhere to move us. Moved us the next day to “another swim up room”… it was next door and the patio was half the size with no tanning chairs. There were bugs/roaches in the bathroom/ shower and the back door didn’t close all the way so we got mosquitos in the room all night. Food was horrible. The buffet was good, restaurants were trash. This was a common complaint among a few guests we spoke to from Russia, Canada, France, and the States. The beach is blocked off about 15 feet into the water for loud boats. The photo of the open clear sea is inaccurate. The water around the pool areas and the cabanas is drained out/low. Power went out 3 TIMES while we were there. At checkout when asked how our stay was, we said below par in hopes of some resolution. Came back home and tried to get a partial refund of sorts- or someone to listen to the issues- and got denied by the hotel AND EXPEDIA. Incredibly unfortunate to spend so much money to visit somewhere that has falsely advertised themselves.

There were several employees that we absolutely loved and bonded with! And the drinks were amazing and there was so much food selection. It was a huge resort and definitely required a lot of walking!
