Pros: Great wait staff and clean rooms.
Cons: Better offers on excursions.

I enjoyed my vacation tremendously. The food and staff was great . My only complaint was the excursions that were offered by the hotel.

Amazing couples stay

Barcelo has to be he best resort I've ever been to in Punta Cana. I've been to a lot with family since my family is of Dominican decent. But this one is by far the best. The best part was that it's ALL INCLUSIVE. It literally makes you not think of wasting money on food and drinks. Room: clean and very attentive to detail. There is also a balcony with a hot tub which my boyfriend and I used almost every night. The beds could be a little more on the comfort side though. Service: Service was great and staff members were always friendly and helpful. I got sick during my stay and a staff member made sure I was feeling better. Beach: the view of the beach was AMAZING. Literally looked out of a pamphlet. Only critique that I have of this beach is that it is not cleaned by the staff. There are lots of shells and debris around the sand that makes it hard to walk barefoot. If you want a nice clear beach, this beach is not for you. Pool: there were several pools on the resort and they were spectacular. They closed very late, so a late night swim is a must. The pool bar was also what got us enjoying that pool a little more. There is also an adults only pool which my boyfriend and I found more enjoyable. Food: the buffet was almost always open throughout the day and the food was very good. There was a lot of variety and the staff was very friendly whenever you had a request. Also if you want to go to the private restaurants make sure you bring long pants.

Nice hotel not close to the beach

My room was too far from the beach and walking and waiting for the little train ride was a problem for me and my girlfriend legs. Now if I liked golf it would have been a great time.

Beautiful hotel, grounds, and pool area.

Location: Did not go off resort as we have been to area several time before.
The hotel, grounds and pool area are beautiful and well maintained. Very large facility and requires some walking even with tram (which was not a problem for us). The sea weed was terrible; perhaps due to storm. Some days it was cleaned up with front end loader and others it was not. Food was average. We ate at 6 of the specialty restaurants. Steakhouse and Mediterranean best. There were a couple excellent staff; Ranato Cruz was the very best ambassador for the hotel and living there; 5 star man (who worked in several restaurants and the buffet). Restaurant staff VG but buffet poor. Most people got there own coffee, drinks, etc.; just easier. Made a bad impression on us and we tipped every breakfast and lunch regardless. Had massage that was VG and facility was great. One suggestion is to have a drink of some sort in the lobby. We had traveled a long time and there are no beverages in main lobby at all; no place to listen to music in the lobby area. A few minor changes would add a lot to such a beautiful facility.

Wonderful time

My family and I had a great time at this resort. The only draw back for me was the language barrier we experienced in communicating with many of the hotel staff.

Nice hotel with plenty of activities for everyone.

Pros: Plenty of activities in the pool and beach area. El Coral and Kyoto Restaurants.
Cons: The Staff needs a lot of training on customer service. Adult beverage selection needs improvement. Billiards/Bowling/Arcade fees are too expensive.
Location: Great Location close to airport and right on the beach. Did not have to leave the resort in 9 days - Tons of things to do there.
I had a great time with my family at Barceló Bavaro Palace! CHECK IN - was good, we were allowed to check in early (low season) were very happy with that. The Junior suite was great and the kids (8 &11) Loved the Jacuzzi. Room was cleaned daily. Huge hotel so be prepared to walk from your room to anywhere. We didn't mind it since it has lots of stuff to offer. CUSTOMER SERVICE - A bit lame. Most (not all) employees would only smile or acknowledge you IF they are trying to sell you something. A bit more friendliness/training would benefit the resort. (based on 3 prior all-incl. vacations in Cancun) BUFFET Restaurants - food selection was ok, lots of options to choose from, but the most disappointing part of it was the number of Flies everywhere - Indoors! Horrible first impression. We couldn't enjoy our lunch because of it. Having said that, this issue was not too bad the remaining 8 days. DINNER Restaurants - they are GREAT!! Went straight to the reservations desk and booked a different restaurant every night. El Coral and Kyoto, my favorites, but they all had great food (tried Italian, Spanish, Mexican and Steak House) Adult BEVERAGES – Definitely need improvement, too watered down. KIDS CLUB - Not happy with it. I recommend moving it to an indoor area with AC. They didn't like it. POOL & BEACH Games/Activities – The Best part of the resort! No need to leave the hotel just follow their schedule and the whole family will have fun. NIGHT Club and Shows were excellent!!
