Dont Go here

I have been to dreams Punta cana and this was a true disappointment. Nothing compared to the lack of staffing and just plain outdated place.

6day stay at Occidental Caribe

Aesthetically the resort was pleasing. The food was terrible at the buffet. All the food started tasting the same. The burgers tasted like cow manure, no lie. The rooms were decent the first day. Found a stain on the bed linens and it was there the entire stay. The never changed the linens just remade the beds. It was a struggle to get washcloths for the room. Asked guest services two times about washcloths and none was ever brought. The staff was friendly and they had plenty of activities to do throughout the day.

Good value for money

Nice beach. Warm water. Enough shade It would be nice to add a little more staff in main restaurant.

Fantastc staff, welcoming and personible and happy. The beach is wonderful- no seaweed or rocks on the ocean floor! The bed and pillows were so comfortable!

The worst hotel

The food was terrible. The electricity in my room was not working. The hair dryer (blower) was not working.The restaurant with reservations the staff ( ladies) was very rude. I waits my money. Never again! The security was disrespectful.

Even though we know food preferences are personal matter, we always do try to cater to every taste. At our buffet restaurant, we offer seven different theme nights during the week, in addition to our buffet choices we feature two a la minute or carving stations and a pasta stations for lunch and dinner daily. Our six a la carte restaurants offer numerous additional main course choices. Anyway, we attended these issues with our F&B Manager, as we found your concerns very important and had to be attended immediately. I loved it here. Staff was so nice and friendly. My only complaint is the food at the buffet was gross. you definitely need to make reservations at the other restaurants there, they are so good.

Nice hotel but solicitatiors are everywhere

We went here for our honeymoon, which was a bad choice. It was only a bunch of drunk people trying to party. We even did the romantic dinner on the beach and about 7 drunk guys were playing boce right by our table because it was the only place with light, even after our server asked them to stop they continued to play. Club music was blasting pretty late into the night, which could be heard from our room. The women who work there are very nice but the men are aggressively trying to sell you anything and everything from excursions to checking out their new hotel to getting massages on the beach. The soliciting never ended and it was hard to actually enjoy ourselves. There also seemed to be a lot of under the table soliciting, the male workers would tell you they could get you a "cheaper" price if they called their friend and you went with them off the resort site. With all the sex trafficking in the Caribbean, we felt very unsafe. As a lesbian couple, not sure if this was specific to this hotel or the DR in general but people were telling us that us being together was a "problem". On top of all that, we went to a quieter area on the beach and when we went in the water, our stuff had been moved, gone through and money stolen. Safe to say we will never be returning, what an awful honeymoon choice.
