POSITION:
Racale is a typical southern Salento town located near the southern-western coast. Messapians, Greeks, and Romans have all inhabited the area at one point in time. There are several historical churches, towers and menhir found in Racale.

A 5 minute drive takes you to Torre Suda, which is where the nearest beach is located. Racale is a producer of grains, tobacco, and grapes. The neighboring town, Taviano is known for its restaurants serving traditional and local cuisine. It is also easy to reach other coastal towns and their respective beaches, including the popular destinations in Gallipoli and Torre San Giovanni, buy driving right along the coast.
