Great service and convenient location. The art exhibits on the 2nd floor lobby were also great additions to the experience. Highly recommend the hotel’s restaurant, Counting House, for a nice dinner.

Having stayed in several 21C facilities and I was excited for this one. The hotel/restaurant/valet staff, art exhibits, food...were what I would expect from this line. The elevators, hallways and rooms really were a disappointment. It all just seemed dark and dingy. Sad to say, I don't desire to stay there in the future.

First rooms air conditioning didn’t work. After 2 nights, 3 calls for maintenance to fix it and 1 visit to the front desk, we were moved to another room. That room was right on the square and very loud. We could hear the music playing at neighboring hotels and/or the square. Very disappointing especially since we were traveling with our son. Had the opposite experience the last time I stayed at this hotel a year ago, but it has gone downhill. The hotel, overall needs maintaining. Only 1 working elevator to the higher floors and rooms. Area itself has such potential but unsafe given the homeless population. Accosted at all times of the day and could not enjoy even a walk across the street without being harassed.

We were here for American Dance Festival (ADF). The art work in this hotel is amazing and made the stay so unique and interesting. As a former office and bank building, the hotel itself is also very historically significant, as the architect for this building was, I believe, also the architect for the Empire State Building. Our room was very clean and spacious. The staff was friendly. It was convenient to many things in town. It was within walking distance to some good eateries, as well, including Mateo, a Spanish tapas restaurant.

I rank my hotels with each star meaning something. Cost, Convience/Amenities, Staff, Cleanliness/safety, and Style/structure This hotel only gets 2.75 of my 5 stars. It's a 3 star hotel disguising itself as a 4 star. BREAKDOWN: Cost - no star - not worth the $215 paid for room and parking. On my way to RI, I had stayed in a hotel in Arlingron with a similar style. Their cost with parking was $175. If I could have stayed there again going back, I would have but wanted to try this hotel out of curiosity and was disappointed. For everything that I had experience and seen, I would only pay $150 for my stay and this includes mtly resort fee and parking (which was an addition $30 all together). Convience/Amenties - .50 star -Parking was a huge inconvince for those with large luggage and kids. Positive is the location for the club goers. Sauna and other stuff was a good addition. Staff- a whole star- cause they freaking rocked it ❤️ Cleaniness/Safety- .50 star, the bedroom and bathroom were clean the rubber duck was a good addition. However there were damages along the walls and floor that was either from incomplete maintenence or past visitors. Safety was definitely an issue when it came to the elevators and broken electrical appliances in the room. Style/Structure - .75 - I almost give this a whole star, but with how thin the walls were I had to cut it. Now the style of the overall hotel is great. The concept was an art museum is great, but is missing some execution points

Staff did not inform us of people climbing outside of our room when we purchased an upgrade. Regardless if it was for charity, when an upgrade to a suite has been purchased the front desk should also inform them of events that may bother them during their stay. The front desk should not rely on a small sign at check in to relinquish all accountability of poor hospitality. After the issue happened, the service went in a downward spiral especially in cleanliness that even an offer of a comp dinner at the restaurant couldn’t mend the broken heart of hopes that we had for this hotel.

Nice and clean room. Safe did not work and neither did the replacement safe. Took a long time to check in well after the room should have been ready. Elevators took a very long time and housekeeping / maintenance plus a cart was always already inside -- there appear to be no freight elevators. None of this was disclosed at booking.

I would rate higher but our check in experience set us of to a tough start. Check in is at 4pm. We arrived at three and rooms were not ready which understandable. We had a drink at the bar and went back up about 415pm. We saw numerous guests checking in ahead of us. Most of them getting rooms. I was told they were sold out the past two nights and still working on getting rooms ready. I told check in we had 530 dinner reservations. We finally got into our room about 515pm. Only other issue the room was out of shampoo and I had to ask 3 times before receiving it. Favorite part for me was the hostess at the counting house and mid day bartender. Great conversation and wonderful drinks.

Hotel was average. hotel had a very intriguing vibe but the buildings interior screamed for simple updates & upgrades. The room hallways and floors appeared to be that of a extremely unkept senior citizens building. Some moments you could get positively lost in the “museum” type deco vibe,& then you would come back to reality upon seeing smudged finger and hand marks on the walls that appeared like the hotel’s interior was that of a buildings exterior walls. Our rooms appeared pleasant at first glance, but as you inspected, you can see areas of filth as well as the smell of wet rug. Our rooms faucet was broken and would poor water throughout the sink top and floor. Average hotel at best, but the location allowed access to more areas and restaurants which was a plus. Ultimately the stay was average, the hotel was ok but the worse part was being consistently greated by the homeless individuals upon our nightly returns to the hotel. By far the most unpleasant experience was the homeless people waiting near the hotel and hassling you for money. 2 out of the 4 experiences of vagrant harassment turned into down right verbal assaults and intimidation. When you’re with family and children it’s the last thing you wanna deal with. Ultimately it’s not the hotel’s responsibility to deal with the homeless but i want to make a clearer picture of our stay. To bring some positivity to the review, I did find the check in staff very professional & helpful. I wll not be returning.
