"The location of itravel Hostel was pleasant - near main roads, but quiet. Both the room and the common areas were clean and comfortable. The hosts were very helpful in answering questions and providing information and recommendations. This was invaluable for a traveler who doesn't speak Chinese!"

"The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. I appreciated the more laid back location with easy access to the Hualien Indigenous Center and park on the opposite side of the road."

"We loved our room at Zi Qing Cheng B&B. We chose it because of the reviews and they were not wrong! Our family of 4 had a car, so it made our trips to Taroko Gorge convenient (a must see!) However after hiking, it was so nice to come back to our clean and comfortable room in the city. Here we parked on the street and walked the area, which had so many great food places and good shopping. "The room was very clean and well kept. The staff were friendly and responsive despite my poor Mandarin skills. Only a short taxi ride away from the Hualien station. Overall, a good place to stay for a solo traveler. "

"It’s a gem within the hustle & bustle. It’s a townhouse building within the residential area for more authentic local experience. 8mins walk to the main train station and 5mins walk to the Main Street - ZhongShan Street, 2km straight road full of eateries. The host was very nice and friendly, room was spacious enough and clean. Was a pleasant 4days stay for us. Highly recommended."

"Check-in process was quick. Darren at front desk is friendly and very helpful who helped us enrollment of the hotel program, gave the suggestions of nearby gourmet and attractions. The vibe of the hotel is relaxing. Decoration and furniture are delicate. Room is clean, comfortable and in between luxury and practical. We got an ocean-view room. I particularly enjoyed sitting on the window seat to enjoy the view of the city and the ocean.
Worth to mention is that the hotel offers a sparkling water machine (it also comes with selection of cold and ambient ) on the hall way instead of bottled water which is eco-friendly. We love the idea and enjoy the sparkling water so much.
We used the gym, the hot spring, and the sauna area which are well-maintained.
All in all, we had a great time while staying with this hotel. Especially Darren who treats us like friends telling the story behind the designs . Thanks to Darren Huang making a big plus to our wonderful time in Hualien.

"It’s a home like place. The room we stayed is a spacious one with the window wall face the grand pacific directly. It’s the best choice if you’re in Hua Lian for both outdoor and indoor. The owner and staff are so friendly and helpful, too. Through the light hearted chatting we learned so much about the local people and anything about sightseeing or how to get around… it’s super fun to I would say of the stay at View Ocean. It’s an eye opening experience for me and my 16 yr old daughter. "
"I’d give 10/10 for this hotel. The services and cleaners are amazing. My room is really nice. I can see the ocean view and the town from the window. Breakfast was amazing too. The location is really quiet, walkable to the town, really close to the night market and bus stop too. "
"Look. I would rate this place 1 star because I need wifi...and the wifi was dodgy.omg. but here's the thing...big, good price, great communication with owner, big, comfy... convenient... I just had to take the wifi on the chin. I liked this place. "
"The hotel room was of a good size and the location was great, really close to everything in the center of downtown Hualien. Apart from the room being a bit run down, everything in the room worked well for a few nights' stay. We found the daily cleaning of the room quite inconsistent, and had to inform the hotel reception a few times that used cups were not replaced with fresh ones daily, despite several reminders. The breakfast spread was acceptable but was definitely more on the basic scale. No netflix available in the hotel as well. "
"Our "standard double room" was pretty tiny. Some of the front desk staff seemed cold and unfriendly. I guess those are minor points. Excellent breakfast. The price was good so I shouldn't complain."
"I left my earbuds on my bed and checked out the lady found them and ran to my taxi before it left, thank you for saving my earbuds.
No hooks in washroom
Breakfast congee was a bit cold by 9 o'clock.
Friendly service."

"Located in a convenient location in Hualien. It is a perfect place that is within walking distance to the dongdamen night market and many other day markets around the area. We had a fabulous stay and loved the new modern look of the hotel. The decor and feel of the hotel makes you feel like you're in a building with the French quarter. The owners/operators of the hotel were very attentive and even offered us umbrellas after witnessing us get soaked the first day we arrived. "
