Get Away From It All - Romantic or Family - Timberframe Cottage

Private and secluded on a dirt road with very little traffic, yet easy to access. Tucked in a grove of trees next to a pond with a fantastic mountain view facing south. Authentic timberframe construction with a real wood fireplace (firewood provided) & vaulted ceiling. Timbers Cottage is situated on 17 acres with a small pond for fishing, canoeing or ice skating. Canoe and life jackets onsite. Hot tub outdoors on deck that runs all year round. Nearest neighbors to the East and West are each about 1/4 mile away. One master bedroom with queen bed, and an open loft that can sleep up to 8 people (4 twin beds and 4 twin trundles). Finished basement with sectional sofa, entertainment system, and pool table.

Pictures don’t do it justice!
You can tell this place is beautiful in the pictures but this place took our breath away!!! We enjoyed 4 days of quiet, peaceful reading by the fire, naps, hotubs sessions, cooking and baking, baths, games of pool, walks with the amazing views, stargazing, enjoying the snow sunsets and sunrises….it was something out of a book and we already are looking to come back in May for my birthday! Beautiful place that we will remember forever!!!!

A little romantic getaway
My husband and I needed a weekend away. When we arrived, we realized that the cottage was even nicer in person than the pictures show! We enjoyed the hot tub under the stars, the pool table for some fun and relaxed in front of a warm fire. The cottage was clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen had everything we needed. The wifi worked great if you are looking for that too. Mat & Janice were fantastic hosts. We loved the surprises they left! This is definitely a place we will come back to!

This is the perfect place to escape reality for a little while. The cabin was so clean and perfect and created a really relaxing atmosphere. Easy check in and check out. Definitely recommend and will stay again!

Amazing Cabin
This is our favorite place to stay in the upper PA area. Very clean cabin with everything you need. Quiet at night and during the day. Close enough to food and entertainment. Nice little pond to fish in and plenty of nature to take in. My wife and kids always have a great time.

Very Comfortable
The cottage is lovely, and the hosts make sure you have all you need to really enjoy the property -- firewood for both the sitting area fireplace and an outside fire pit, a hot tub on the deck...and the views out of every window are beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay.

Quiet Perfection
Located down a back road in the middle of the some of the most beautiful country, the cottage is outstandingly gorgeous and the view from the hot tub is second to none. Very relaxing, rustic country charm, yet updated perfectly. We love this slice of heaven!

Quiet and relaxing getaway!
My husband and I had a great relaxing weekend! The cabin is such a peaceful and bra place to stay. We loved having the pool table and tv down stairs. The hot tub was perfect to jump into after dinner at night then before bed cozy up to a fire in the fireplace! This cabin is close enough to a few state parks also for hiking and seeing waterfalls!

Cabin is amazing with remarkable amenities and views. Tons of room to relax. Wood burning fireplace, cozy rooms and a jacuzzi tub on the deck that overlooks incredible scenery. My little family absolutely loved every second of our stay. We will absolutely be back soon. Do yourself a favor and book this cabin as soon as you can. You will absolutely love it too!!!

Awesome place to getaway
I loved everything about this cottage. From checking in to checking out, from the amenities listed to the quality of the cabin, the location, and the atmosphere. The pictures do not do this cottage Justice. The hot tub unbelievable, played pool, did a little fishing and canoeing, relaxed out on the deck and did some reading. Other times I just enjoyed the fresh air. If you live in the city and you visit this location you'll know exactly what I'm talking about, the air just seems fresher I can't put it any other way. Someone put a lot of love in the workmanship of the cottage. For those of you wondering about the bathroom situation, nice size shower upstairs and a lovely deep soaking tub downstairs ( like the jacuzzi wasn't enough), I swear I was as giddy as a school girl when I saw all three. I love a good hot shower, a nice soak and a deep tub even more, and the jacuzzi was just the icing especially when you have sore muscles or a bad back. The weather in Rome at night in August most perfect for relaxing in the hot tub. Awesome breeze gorgeous skies. The cottage is also large enough to accommodate a big family, and perfect if you're solo. I wasn't supposed to be alone but that's the way it worked out and honestly it was the best vacation I've had in a long time. I needed to unplug from society and technology, but if you must have internet I didn't have any issues with the Internet when I was there. Only watched TV for like 2 hours my whole stay, the rest was spent enjoying nature, the quietness, and getting back in touch with myself. I loved seeing the little bunny in the backyard every evening around 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. I found places to fish and swim within 20 minutes of the cottage maybe 30 minutes tops. Went into town for breakfast and shopping, the people are friendly and down to earth. Enjoyed shopping in the antique and thrift stores that are available. Thank you Matt and Janice Dewing. I hope to return next year.

Get away from it all
This property was just what we needed for some much needed rest, relaxation, and escape from the hurry and demands of normal life. We enjoyed the serene evenings with an ambience of croaking bullfrogs, chirping insects, and the occasional howling of coyotes off in the distance as we sat around the campfire. The adjacent small pond, surrounded by tall cattails, was perfect for a relaxing float in the canoe and some easy fishing, where we each caught a largemouth bass among a plethora of sunfish. The finished basement gave us a place to snuggle up for a movie and to play pool during a rainstorm. The cabin is gorgeous, comfortable, and has a nicely equipped kitchen. Highly recommended.

I cannot say enough about this property or it's owners Mat and Janice. This is our second staying and we decided before we even left to enter a standing yearly reservation with the Dewings. They are the greatest people...always there to help with anything you need at any time. The cottage is just incredible. Always so clean and inviting. The weather didn't really cooperate this year but we did not care. The hot tub is always great and relaxing. The kitchen is more than adequate. It has all of the basics you need to cook up a meal but we do most of our cooking on the grill. Even the weather didn't stop us! Fishing is great although coming this early, they were spawning so not really biting (we made our standing res for a bit later in the season...lol). I am a weather lover and just to sit and watch the storms form and roll in was amazing since the view is spectacular. We did not get to take the hike this year but we have it already planned for our next visit. Oh and semantics...the bed is VERY comfortable. My husband decided he wanted to sleep downstairs on the couch so he could watch tv and he said that was very comfortable to sleep on as well. There is a gorgeous soaking tub in the downstairs bathroom that was just fabulous (just remember the water is drawn from a well so it takes time to fill it). The fireplace was wonderful as it was chilly our first night and the Dewings provide all the wood you could ever use. We use Roku and Fire sticks at home and had no issues logging into our apps on the TV. What more can I say...just another wonderful trip with wonderful memories. Thank you Mat and Janice.

Timber Cottage was excellent. Deck, hot tub, and fireplace were just what we needed. Took a hike in McIntyre Wild area to see falls and they were worth the trip! I would recommend this property to everyone! We will be back.

Timber extended weekend getaway
Couldn't of asked for more... soon as I walked into the cabin , it was such a pleasing aroma of pine and woods scent … very relaxing. Met some very nice locals in Towanda. Overall I was extremely pleased , the cabin had pretty much everything we needed. Just had to bring the food. I will definitely book here again. The owner was easy to work with and communication was a 10+
