Ruthin Castle Hotel and Spa is a lovely space to enjoy being spoiled and catered to. We chose it as the midpoint of our long holiday with our daughter and granddaughters so we could all experience living in a real castle. Ruthin did not disappoint. The rooms are all decorated differently and offer luxurious details. The Library Bar is a cozy and comfortable place to relax and talk to other travelers, and the grounds are a great place to walk with the resident peacocks. All of the staff were attentive and sweet, without being intrusive. I would love to stay there again in future.

The castle is undergoing a refurbishment. I paid for a suite and it was utterly disappointing. £225 for a night in a room that was like a throwback to the sixties. Broken glass in the table. The settee was broken to the point where you couldn’t sit on it. If things are broken in the room surely it should be reflected in the price. The lift was out of order. The breakfast was nice.

For such a beautiful building so much character has been lost. The room was nice and clean but the whole place needs redecorating and so love put into it. Breakfast staff need customer service training and food could be better. Overall disappointing
