“Honestly, we expected the hotel to be good, but it actually surpassed our expectations in pretty much every way. The pool is a community pool, but the hotel has a section of reserved chairs for hotel guests. eBikes were included in the reservation so we biked for ~30 minutes to go down by the river and make it easier to get back up to the hotel. “The rooms are in a modern build anex and are comfortable, clean and very pleasant. My room and many rooms have a small balcony, air conditioning and great space. We were able to park our motorbikes right next to reception, it felt safe. Breakfast was good and there is a nice restaurant within walking distance by the river ( I think it’s owned by the same people). Staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a quiet town but has a good supermarket. Overall this was a very nice stopover and I’d gladly……

Castelo de Vide is a Portuguese town in the district of Portalegre, Alentejo region and sub-region of Alto Alentejo with about 2300 inhabitants. It is the seat of a municipality with 264.91 km ? and 3407 inhabitants (2011), divided into 4 parishes. The municipality is bordered by Spain northeast, east by the municipality of Marv?o, south by the municipality of Portalegre, the southwest by the municipality of Crato and west and northwest by the municipality of Nisa. The romantic character of the town of Castelo de Vide, associated with its gardens, plenty of vegetation, mild climate and proximity to the Serra de S?o Mamede, became known as the "Sintra of Alentejo" (this term is attributed to King D. Pedro V ).
