It provided a nice level of privacy and the view at night in particular, was really a joy. Bed was very comfortable and although the bathroom was far from luxurious, was large and perfectly suited for a beach cottage. Air conditioner worked fine. Breakfast food is limited-pretty much the same choices every day, but it was filling and satisfying. The people at the front desk were patient and accommodating. During our stay we walked to several other beach areas on the island and decided that Lipe Beach Resort had one of the best locations in that there was almost always a nice breeze, which moderated the heat. I thought I would be okay with the fan and open windows, since the temperatures at night on the beach is usually in 70s. I've slept comfortably at other beach bungalows that were much less expensive with no issues. However, the windows in the room here DO NOT have screens, and there is a sign that says to keep the windows locked at all times, even while in the room, because of theft. This creates a terrible sleep environment. It was too hot, stuffy, and too many mosquitos. I was able to upgrade to a room with window locks and AC, but I had to pay a rather high upcharge. While this made the stay much more comfortable, overall I'd pass on this resort next time I am in Loh Lipe. I'd opt to just pay slightly more for a true luxury experience. Breakfast was excellent, the beach and location is unreal and the staff are very nice. The only issue is the theft, lack of screens and issues with the windows.
