Die Straße hinauf ist abenteuerlich, aber meines Erachtens kann sie auch mit 2WD gefahren werden (asphaltiert und Steigungen machbar, es gibt schlimmere Alpenpässe). Die Polizei kontrolliert allerdings unten den Allrad und schreibt sich die Personenzahl und das Herkunftsland auf. Bei der Rückfahrt wurden wir nicht wieder "ausgecheckt". Das Hotel ist super und liegt direkt an der Kante zum Canyon mit tollem Blick vom hoteleigenen Aussichtsgeländer oder vom Zimmerbalkon. Es gibt sogar einen kleinen Aussichtsturm und einen Kinderspielplatz. Wir waren auch im Dezember im Außenpool, der ca. 10m von der Kante entfernt ist. 200m vom Hoteleingang startet der w18b Wanderweg durch die Bergdörfer mit den grünen Terrassen. Den haben wir mit unserem 5jährigen Sohn und unserer 3jährigen Tochter in der Kraxe problemlos geschafft. Ein paar Stufen sind allerdings dabei ebenso wie die grandiose Aussicht. Unserem Sohn hat es sehr viel Spaß gemacht auf den Falaj - den kleinen Wasserkanälen zu spazieren. Es gibt keine wirklich gefährlichen Stellen. in 500m Entfernung vom Hotel ist ein Supermarkt, der uns nicht überteuert vorkam für eine Berglage. Auch eine Tankstelle gibt es daneben. Mountain view suite had fantastic view on the canyon with 2 balconies. Size was great and included super size bathtub in sitting room (? 😀 ?) Die Lage ist top, am Saiq Plateau gleich neben Diana‘s Viewpoint nd dem teuren Antara Resort, super geniale Wanderungen vom Hotel aus (Village Trail) oder in der Nähe mit kurzer Autofahrt (Wadi Bani Habib). Geräumige Zimmer mit Balkon, bequeme Betten, alles sehr sauber, modernes Café, kinderfreundlich mit tollem Pool und Spielplatz, gratis Qahwa (omanischer Kaffee) und Datteln in der Lobby, Frühstücksauswahl ausreichend und gut, Abendessen zwar kleine Karte (wenig Auswahl), aber gut, vor allem indische Küche. Perfect to spend a few days exploring Great hotel! pros: Outdoor heated swimming pool. Amazing views to the canyon. It has a nice area for children to play. Great customer service, the lady in the reception showed without being asked all the things to visit around, how to get there, really good service. There is a gym on the top where you can do exercise while watching the canyon. The room facilities were good, it felt luxurious and useful, the balcony is perfect for watching the sunset. Cons: The buffet is expensive and quality of food is just ok. You need a 4WD to get there and it takes about 1h1/2\.
