I didn't want to be kidnapped in Tawau so Semporna seemed like a safer option. I looked online for hotels to stay in but they seemed expensive for what I was getting. This place is great for a dorm set up but you have to be ok in a small enclosed space! It is clean, beds well made, small locker for daypack bag and nice warm showers. There is a help yourself bread, jam and coffee area. The wifi was excellent. Only downside was because of plastic capsules and door mechanism you hear and feel people getting into and moving around on their capsules around you. Because a dorm of 18 it can be a bit noisy. I still think it is one of the best accommodation options for semporna and the staff were really helpful.
