Die Zimmer an sich waren geschmackvoll eingerichtet,allerdings schon etwas abgewohnt (nicht die Möbel!). Beschädigte Türr-und Fensterrahmen, das Bad warschon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, die Türklinke komplett abgebrochen, wurde jedoch sofort repariert. Alles in allem hatten wir einen tollen Aufenthalt mit tollem Pool (generell war der Außenbereich super schön angelegt und gepflegt) und das Hoteleigene Restaurant/Bar war total schön und hatte super leckeres Essen. Das Personal war super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das das Hotel etwas abgelegen war wurde man jederzeit umsonst zur nächsten "Einkaufstraße" gefahren und auch Frühstückspakete bei sehr früher Abreise wurden uns ein Abend vorher gemacht. Lovely secluded and fish in the beach right outside the villa. even gave free snorkeling equipment to us.nicest touch was they spelled out welcome with my name in white stones and flower petals to greet me. Because my husband was not feeling very well, the rich breakfast was served on our terrasse. The manager was very open for some advice, for example to make a little path from the resort to the beach to the best point for snorkelling with a hint, how far you can swim without getting caught by a rip current. At a certain point, the current takes you out, and though its enjoyable to be drifting at high speed, the awakening comes, when you want to get back, coz then it becomes hard work even with fins, almost scary. Once you've crossed a certain line, the current slows down and you can easily swim back to the shore. That's why we recommend the stuff to warn those, who snorkel, to be aware of the rip current, that starts, where the visible cliffs near the resort end. Ganz besonders bedacht ist der Pool, der sogar über eine Sitzmöglichkeit verfügt. Über mehrere Funkklingeln kann man dem Personal vom Pool aus ankündigen, dass man gerne etwas bestellen möchte. Der Service des Restaurants war äußerst zuvorkommend, auch wenn das Essen preiswerter und /oder besser hätte sein können. Man ist mit der Lage am Meer schon ziemlich abgeschieden. Daher ist es zum Ausspannen perfekt. Auf Unternehmungen, die man über das Hotel Bucht, ebenso wie auf das Essen, kommen zusätzlich 21% Steuern und Servicepauschale. Das sollte man bedenken. Sehr gut hat mir der Schnorcheltrip von Lovina aus gefallen. Das berühmte Dolphinwatching in den Morgenstunden vor Lovina war für mich weitaus weniger spektakulär, als gedacht. Ich zählte rund 100 (!) Boote, die die Delfine eher jagten, als ihnen ihren Lebensraum zu lassen. Der schwarze Sandstrand vor der schön angelegten Hotelanlage war deutlich weniger heiß, als ich befürchtet hatte. Vom Restaurant aus kann man sowohl den Sonnenauf- als auch den Sonnenuntergang beobachten in Verbindung mit den einheimischen Anglern, die gegen die Sonne vermummt teilweise bis zum Hals im Meer stehen, ist das schon eine sehenswerte Kulisse, auch wenn man in einiger Entfernung ein Kraftwerk sieht - aber irgendwoher muss ja auch der Strom kommen... Ich würde das Hotel weiterempfehlen. The location was quiet and peaceful, and we spent most of the week there lying around our room (with balcony to view the beach and distant mountains of Java) or relaxing in the pool and meticulously maintained gardens. Vor allen Dingen ist es sehr übersichtlich und ruhig. Man findet dort keine Menschenmassen vor, weil es nur 8 Zimmer beinhaltet und es ist nicht umgarnt von benachbarten Hotels. Deshalb kann man herrlich relaxen und seinen Aufenthalt genießen. Auch kann man dort herrlich schnorcheln und Strandspaziergänge unternehmen. Das Doppelzimmer war phantastisch eingerichtet und ein Balkon mit Meeresblick war ebenfalls vorhanden. Wer ein reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet erwartet, wird leider enttäuscht. Es existieren nur zwei verschiedene Frühstücksangebote, die individuell zusammengestellt werden können und wenn man dort zu Abend essen möchte, muss man ganz schön tief in die Tasche greifen. Die Entfernung zwischen der Hauptstraße und dem Hotel beträgt ca. 2 km. Nous avons passé 3 nuits dans ce magnifique hôtel, la suite ocean view est telle que sur les photos. La piscine est très jolie et nous avons apprécié le calme, la décoration et la propreté de cet établissement. Par contre il est loin de tout et si vous n'avez pas de moyen de locomotion vous ne pouvez rien faire. Le personnel est charmant mais par contre il n'y a pas de commandant à bord ! Il n'y a aucune organisation pour les excursions. Le restaurant de l'hôtel est très agréable et on y mange très bien (heureusement car il n'y a rien autour .) You'll need to reset your expectations but that's what a new adventure is all about. The Mayo Resort was purchased by Nick, a British former investment banker from Kuala Lumpur, about two years ago. He has done a great job freshening up the 8 room property and it suited us well after two weeks of work for our charity in the nearby mountains of Munduk. North Bali hotels and villas are typically small isolated properties run by world citizens from all over the globe. The owner is the one who greets you, carries your bags to your room, seats you at dinner and shares a drink and a story or two along the way. Nick has assembled quite a roster on his team - an awesome French chef, and Austrian hotel management intern, and an assortment of enthusiastic local residents. ##### Rambler 1959
