Moto Velo is <20 mins from the Uni Campus, This place caught my eye as it allows dogs to stay at a reasonable price, much better than the ridiculous amount some of the hotels in Exeter were charging. Plus it comes with free convenient parking. Check-in is faceless with easy to follow instructions. “We stayed for three nights in a family room for three. The room is specious and clean. We have a dog with us and Kings Arms is 100% dog friendly. We stayed in a room quite close to some cooling system which was required to keep turned on to keep the beer cold (I think) but it produced a constant mechanically nose which became very noticeable in the evening. I asked for a change of room but unfortunately there was not a double room available. As a compromise the owner arranged to turn off the……

“Staff efficient but robotic and lacked empathy. Bedroom tired and the lighting was inadequate when applying make-up. Dim lights might be romantic but a dressing table with a proper lamp so you can see what you look like is essential! “Nice sizeable and comfortable room. Unfortunately it was quite hot due to it being on the second floor and after a string of hotter than usual days, not helped by the fact that the heated towel rail (from the hot water system) couldn't be shut off. But a great old pub to stay in all the same. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant.”

“The staff, we found to be friendly, helpful and efficient. Room bedding and towels were clean with replacements available if required. Rooms were serviced alternate days, but also on request. Breakfasts were well presented with plenty of choices from hot, cereals, fruit, pastries etc We had dinner most evenings, which we enjoyed, with a choice of 2 or 3 courses. Also sandwiches were available if requested at lunch time in the bar.”
