Stayed at this property in the fall as a couple, & it was extremely peaceful. Wonderful value! Bony Lake is quiet & CLEAR, the fish were biting, & there's a cool channel that leads to the bigger lakes, only accessible by smaller boats. We were provided a small fishing boat that served all our needs, for no addtl cost. The forethought by the owners was evident! The home is classy, immaculate, beds comfortable, & we wanted for nothing! A perfect fit for groups, couples, or families of any size/age, as there are living qrtrs on the 2nd level, with separate (outdoor) entrance, a TV spot, & TONS of sleeping accommodations/bath. The place was well-appointed, with everything you'd need to prepare meals, store food, etc. No corners cut! Sarah was kind, highly-responsive, & they made us feel that we could make ourselves at home. They do live close by, but they're the only neighbors you can really see, & they offered us our privacy. They were not intrusive at all. We were told there are a couple of beaches close by, they're installing a swim dock, & usually a pontoon is offered in the summer, so it seemed a wonderful place to return in the warmer months with our children. Water is shallow for a long distance out from shoreline, making for what appears to be a great swimming experience. Plan ahead for groceries, as it's 20-30 minutes to more "major" grocery shopping & restaurants, though we found some small pubs with food nearby, near Barnes, & even hit up a local Friday night fish fry at the VFW (highly recommend). We supplemented what we needed with a bait shop/convenience store that's less than 2 minutes away. The locals were friendly & most went out of their way to help or offer advice when asked, even about fishing "secrets"! Spent a day on UTVs we rented through Hayward Power Sports & I couldn't recommend that experience or company enough. By far, my favorite part of the trip, as we had tons of different terrain, the trails felt rural (but very well-marked), & they made fantastic recommendations (check out Garmisch Inn as a stop along the way). Nice coffee shop downtown Hayward, a Walgreen's/Wal-Mart, as well as more local shopping experiences. If you're not used to seeing wildlife & tall pines everywhere, you're in for a treat in this part of Wisconsin. 5/5 across the board!
