We stayed at Riu Palace Tropical Bay for 7 days as a family of four with our 6-year-old and 3-year-old, and we had such an amazing experience! It was exactly the relaxing family vacation we needed. The resort was beautiful, extremely clean, and had everything we needed. The staff truly made our stay even better. Everyone we encountered was so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Our room was always clean and comfortable, and the entire property was very well maintained. The beach was absolutely breathtaking—the beautiful clear water, soft sand, and sunsets were some of our favorite parts of the trip. We also loved that there were plenty of activities for both kids and adults throughout the day, so there was always something to do when we wanted it. The food was very good with plenty of variety, and everything felt fresh and clean. With younger children, we personally found the buffet to be much easier than making reservations at the restaurants. Little ones aren’t always patient enough for a longer sit-down dinner, and the buffet gave us so many choices while keeping things easy and relaxed. Even the gift shop was incredibly convenient. They had everything from snacks and souvenirs to sunscreen, medicine, goggles, floaters, and children’s life vests—so if you forgot something, chances are they had it. Overall, we were more than satisfied with our stay. We were able to relax, enjoy beautiful weather, spend quality time together, and make some amazing family memories.

Amazing tree houses in a jungle like environment. Lots of cricket and frog songs at night. The beach has plenty of available shaded spots and lounges all the time. No need to get up at 5am to grab a good spot. Good gym. Amazing woodwork in the resort buildings. On the negative side, the sea was too shallow for me with barriers so people can’t go deeper. The buffet was limited but good. Strangely some walls had paint that was coming off.

All staff were professional, courteous and friendly. They all went out of their way to grant your requests. The ambience is very nice. The electrical outlets on the patio didn't always work. Had to be creative in getting plugs to stay in. They also need to upgrade from 110v to 220v. Just kidding, but they should have something for travelers from Europe. Internet service was pretty good. Everyone in my group were pleased and would return. The tour setup for us by the manager was fun!!!! Good people, fantastic accommodations. Recommended...
