Disappointing stay – cleanliness needs improvement
We stayed at Quy Mill Hotel & Spa for an overnight break, looking forward to relaxing and enjoying the swimming pool, sauna and other leisure facilities.
Unfortunately, the hotel felt dated, and the rooms would benefit from refurbishment, particularly the very old carpets.
The biggest disappointment was the cleanliness of the sauna changing rooms. There was a noticeable smell of urine, hair, dirty flooring and visible stains. This was unpleasant and fell below the standard I would expect from a hotel offering spa and leisure facilities.
On a positive note, breakfast was very nice and enjoyable.
One other point to be aware of is that parking is £10 per 24hrs for third-party bookings, although it can be made free by agreeing to receive marketing emails.
Overall, although the hotel has facilities that could make for a lovely relaxing break, the cleanliness and maintenance need significant improvement.
