Staniel Cay, Exuma,Bahamas!!! The beautiful island of Staniel Cay in the Exuma Cays lies 75 miles southeast of Nassau. You can easily get around by foot or have the option of renting a golf cart. The easiest beach to access in Staniel Cay is Town Beach. It is located between Staniel Cat Yacht Club and Taste & Sea Restaurant right on Kings Cross Highway. Restaurants located in Staniel Cay are Staniel Cay Yacht Club and Taste & Sea Restaurant. Grocery Stores on Staniel Cay are Pink Pearls, General Isles and the Blue Store. The swimming pigs are located just a short boat ride away on Big Major's Cay. The nurse sharks at Compass Cay and the iguanas at Allen's Cay.Just off of Staniel Cay lies Thunder-ball Grotto, an underwater cave system perfect for snorkeling. The grotto got its name back in 1965 from the James Bond movie "Thunder-ball" which was shot here. It is a popular spot for underwater cave for diving and snorkeling. Expect to see exotic marine life, bright coral reefs yellow tail snappers, angelfish and much more!In just 6 feet of water lies the remains of a small plane.
