“The Royal is a classic vintage resort hotel in the classic vintage resort of Stresa. Nothing flashy, which I prefer. The front desk service goes above and beyond, which I needed because I didn’t check in the first night due to storms in Milan but got there early the next morning. The satisfactory breakfast is in a large, pleasant room open to the garden. The view from my room was very nice, out over trees and Lago Maggiore to the mountains. I had a balcony I wished I had more time to use. I……

“The room had a lovely balcony and the location near the lake was perfect. The breakfast was delicious and definitely one of the highlights of the stay. However, the top‑floor room became extremely hot during the summer, and without air conditioning it was quite challenging to stay comfortable.”
