Strichen Vacations from $1,596

If you’re just looking to sleep in there and nothing else then might be fine. I found the room overall really unclean - lots of dust and hair on the floors, bin had not been emptied, the toilet hadn’t been cleaned and the floor in the bathroom was dirty. The bed linens seemed clean but wasn’t sure because of the rest of the room. the room also stank of cigarette smoke. The covering on the bath was also hanging off. The hallways and stairs were just very tired looking and dilapidated. Lots of stains everywhere or holes in the carpet. The staff were lovely and helpful, and the bed was reasonably comfy.

Amazing place, definitely 5 stars. Would stay again. Loved everything about it. The food at the restaurant was the best we had in Scotland so far.

We stayed in the same room we had stayed in 2 months ago. We had reported an electrical fault with one of the sockets back then and it had still not been dealt with. There were toenail clippings underneath the sofa bed. The kettle in the room was also faulty, reception did not seem overly concerned about any of the issues we raised unfortunately.

Clean, great staff. Excellent location.
