Opened in 2005, Liberty Stadium has earned a reputation as one of the best venues in Wales for major sporting events, music concerts and business conferences. Despite its young age the stadium has already laid claim to its part in history after becoming the first in Wales to host a Premier League football match, thanks to the promotion of Swansea City FC. The stadium, overlooked by Kilvey Hill and situated on the bank of the River Tawe, is also the home of professional rugby team Ospreys, one of the most successful in the history of Welsh rugby. The club play in the Pro12, one of Europe's three major rugby leagues. Among the bands and solo artists to perform at Liberty Stadium are The Who, Elton John, Rod Stewart and Kings of Leon. Visitors are welcomed to Liberty Stadium whether or not there is a major event being held, with guided tours available at specific dates throughout the year. The tour includes a look behind the scenes, with a sneak peak at the changing rooms and players’ tunnel where many of the most famous names in Welsh sport have prepared themselves for action. (680 reviews) This place is only good, certainly not excellent, because its location is very good( easy access to Cardiff, Bute Park and stadiums), it is very clean and the breakfasts are excellent. However, the room and the ensuite were disappointingly small,especially for the price! Also, with the exception of the lovely breakfast girls, there was little warmth in the welcome at the main reception desk.Certainly, the least welcoming place we have stayed in for a while! (1,001 reviews) Always amazing and friendly staff, with very little issues. However, on this occasion it wasn't ideal and I felt a little deflated. We had initially booked a 1 night stay but changed this for 2 nights. Everything was well and as expected as per our previous experiences. We started to encounter a couple of issues with some random men (3) knocking on our door on 2 separate occasions which I just put down to random behavior. Secondly, we had a very rowdy couple next door arguing and shouting, alongside banging and slamming the interal bathroom door. This was followed by a family with children who were running, thumping and screaming until gone 2am. I don't blame the children, as a mother of 9 children I know how difficult it can be to entertain them in a single room away from home and they are entitled to make noise. However, it didn't seem like the parents done very much to discourage them, as they had been very loud themselves. I booked a 2nd night because I just needed the rest and the break. They couldn't accommodate a room change due to a wedding which was fine, so I just chanced it and prayed for a quieter night. It wasn't as bad and the children did settle before 1am and woke at 6am LOL. The other issue was the draining of the shower. Whilst showering I had to turn it off 3 times just to allow the water to drain otherwise we'd of made a new Hilton swimming pool. My daughter thought it was hysteral.
