The hotel is in the best location. Right around the corner from exit 4 and across the street from Ximending. Room was quite compact but ok for our party of 2. Beds were comfortable and AC got nice and cold. Nice big screen tv with a ton of channels and a few English ones, too. Bathroom was a little cramped but clean. There was only 1 hook in the bathroom, wish there was a towel rack or more hangers. We ended up just laying the towels on the side on tub. There was also great soundproofing. Has a great night’s sleep every night. Complimentary buffet breakfast was the cherry on top. There was a good variety of hot food. Would definitely stay here the next time I’m in Taipei.

The hotel looks nice outside and in the lobby, but the hallways and the rooms show that they do not maintain the rest of the property. There is visible rust in the bathtub, cracked and dirty grout, the hallway carpet is stained and dirty, broken hooks in the closet, etc.

Loved the location: Ximendeng which is within Taipei. Subway station right outside hotel. Fun, shopping, entertainment, street market/night market, dining, and close and/or easy access to many beautiful sightseeing attractions. Noticed a lot of tourists choose this hotel for same reason. The hospitality is unmatched… couldn’t be any better. Everyone was so friendly, accommodating, and easy to communicate with in English. The hotel also has an outstanding buffet with authentic Taiwanese dishes. However, we found ourselves sampling street food with so many delicious choices of local cuisine. It was almost a shame to dine in sometimes. Ximendeng, where the hotel is located, has so much to offer in tourism. The Midtown Richardson Hotel is perfectly centrally located in all the vibrant activity in Taipei. Our hotel room had 2 twin beds as requested. Firm and comfortable mattresses, soft pillows, and crisp white linens finished off with a plush white cotton duvet. Turn down service is optional with the use of the notification light you control. Your key card placed in the control pad in the room allows you control of the A/C, lights, service in the room. Outlets are universal so very easy to plug in our phone chargers. The shower and tub was roomy and I enjoyed the rainfall shower which we looked forward to after a full day of sightseeing. The toilet seats are heated and have adjustable settings as well as bidet options. Definitely staying here again when visiting Taiwan.

This hotel doesn’t deserve any stars at all. Poor amenities, room aircon broken, walkway very dirty, dark and eerie. Don’t think will stay again at this hotel.

Hotel room 969 had many mosquitoes. We could see mosquitoes flying around in the room. My sister had many mosquito bites since our first night stay. Feedback to hotel and they put a mosquito repellant device but it only helped for 1 day. We managed to kill 3 mosquitoes during our stay at the hotel. When my sister went back to Singapore to see doctor for the insect bites on her arms and legs, doctor suspected it to be bedbug bites. Hence, it could either be mosquito or bedbugs.

Perfect location near Ximending. Room is clean but lack of counter space. Room for suitcases but on the floor. Overall, I would still recommend because of convenient to shopping location and transportation
