The Hartman Rock Garden is most definitely a unique roadside attraction. What started in 1932 by Ben Hartman as a concrete fishing pond, expanded into an entire mini world using thousands of stones, a myriad of plants, handmade figurines and one hell of an imagination. After Ben's passing in 1944, his widow, Mary took over his labor of love until her passing in 1997. The garden began to succumb to neglect but was renovated in 2009 and is now open and free for visitors every day.

Influenced by a recent trip to Japan, Frank Lloyd Wright included some Japanese design elements in the creation of this home.

On U.S. 68, just outside Yellow Springs, the sunflower field at the Tecumseh Land Trust is sharing all it's glory.

This former quarry is now a hundred-plus acre park managed by the town of Fairborn. There are walking and horseback trails and you can easily run at least 3 miles along the perimeter path. The center of the old quarry is a bizarre flat open expanse quite uncharacteristic of this wooded area of Ohio. Rainfall has created several shallow ponds of crystal clear water that is a delight for wading. This park is definitely a hidden gem of Fairborn!
