These are the airport signs. At Lukla, there is one tiny runway on the edge of a mountain, a tarmac just big enough to hold 4 small airplanes, and a small airport terminal. You collect your bags right on the tarmac, cross through an opening in this fence, and then begin your journey to Everest Base Camp. It's an adventure just getting here and flying to Lukla was one of the scariest things we have done.
