Lake Chapala is a natural reservoir of Mexico located mainly in the state of Jalisco. Total surface: 114 659 hectares (ha), of which Jalisco occupies 86% and Michoacán 14% This lake is considered the largest in the Mexico, is the main source of drinking water supply in ​​Guadalajara, because it contributes 60% of the water that reaches the city. It is the largest in the country with 1112 km².
