A little off-track route towards an fantastic rock in the ocean surrounded by massive cliffs and a steep island behind it. The scenery is just stunning for photography or just be blown away its beauty (and the winds). Be carefull with the steep cliffs. Popular day trips from Sorvagur

I took this photo at Sørvágsvatn in the Faroe Islands! This isn't a view of the lake itself or the iconic cliffs. But a view of lesser known cliffs right by the lake itself. And the body of water you see is the deep sea :). And the lake was to the right of me. To see both at the same time is a very cool sight, as well. But I like this close-up view the best. Can really get a feel of how otherworldly it is! As the classic views of the lake. I hiked about 4 KM to get to Sørvágsvatn and it was definitely worth it! Some other tourists as well, but not nearly as many as the peak of summer. I'm glad I went on that late August day! One of my favorite memories of 2018.
