Chic & Comfy Suite & Covered Blue Stone Patio with Fireplace & Waterfall View

Shadow Rock Pavilion & Bungalow and Clapping Tree Falls. This is a one-bedroom and one-bathroom suite located above our beautiful pavilion. The stone floor and covered patio offer a view of the Tree waterfall, where the water continues to flow into the Chattooga River, a popular destination for white-water rafting and kayaking.


Surrounded by 73 acres and bordered by the Chattahoochee National Forest, our Cottages are fully equipped and ready to welcome you. We are in the Appalachian Mountain chain in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The land has creeks and views of the distant mountains, ferns, rhododendrons, sourwood trees, where my favorite honey comes from, hardwoods, and native flora and fauna. Splendor Mountain's man-made lake has moving water with the help of underground springs. Banner Lake is a swimming lake, there are many fishing spots nearby.
Relax and read a book on the porch, stroll through the gardens, take a walk in the woods, or visit one of the 3 nearby State Parks: Tallulah Gorge, Moccasin Creek, or Black Rock Mountain. Ask us about trails on the property!
Right down the road, there are 9 indoor Pickle Ball courts and Rabun Arena where many events are held, such as barrel racing, dog shows, livestock and horse shows, concerts, rodeos, tractor shows, fairs, and so many more.

Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks, and take out the trash
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
- Please set the thermostat to the Cooling Function at 75 with fan on Auto in the Spring and Summer months, and set to 60, with heat on during Fall and Winter months
-Please Handwash Dishes & leave to dry -Gather Used towels on bathroom floor -Please clean out the fireplace, outdoor fire pit, and grill if used.
-Most importantly, please inform us 1-day prior to your checkout if you intend on leaving before 10:00 am.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Quiet, quaint stay with beautiful waterfall and the outdoors!

My husband and I enjoyed a short getaway at Splendor Mountain. We had our own pavilion to hang out under outside with the view of a waterfall. The place really is unique the way it is set up and it was so private.

We loved how remote it was yet only 15 minutes from Clayton GA and restaurants, shops, etc. We loved spending evenings on the covered patio, playing cards in front of the fire and listening to the waterfalls.

So peaceful

Such a cute peaceful place. Had everything we need. Be prepared to use a hotspot for wifi and don't expect to watch TV. Explore the property it is beautiful. Chevin was an amazing host.

We are regulars to Clayton but first time at this location. It was one of our favorite locations due to its proximity to Clayton, Dillard, and Highlands., its scenery, and the serenity of a 120-foot waterfall right beside you.

Serenity and a Wonderful Mountain Locale

Acres of walking space and beautiful mountain views. All the accommodations are tastefully decorated and clean. So quiet—no road noise to interrupt the enjoyment of natural beauty that surrounds cabins and pavilion. Wildflowers abound even in early autumn. Combine that with host/owner Chevin’s welcoming smile and passion to make our stay as memorable as the events that Splendor Mountain typically hosts and what could be better?!

Great weekend getaway!

The bungalow was gorgeous! The getaway for us was so awesome. The location could not have been any better. The owner of the property met us with chocolates because we couldn’t figure out how to exactly get to it, so she chauffeured us in. I cannot say enough good things about this place and the property manager. She is great. The property is great. The weekend was awesome. The pictures online do this place no justice absolutely breathtaking.

Beautiful Location for 2

Beautiful location and clean single room suite above private large covered patio. Perfect place for 2 adults and 1 small dog. Bed and pillows are very comfortable. Covered patio overlooks woods and small waterfall. Great outdoor covered fireplace, but it was too warm during our stay for us to use. Our camping chairs were useful for flexible location seating / lounging. Room is located on second story above patio with stairway access, so beware if you have bad knees (totally fine for us). Nice property manager.

A perfect little escape

This property is a gem. The indoor area is quaint and comfy. It dropped down to 30* at night, and we were never cold. Kitchen is small but had what you need- I had no problems cooking a meal. Plenty of closet space if you need it. Extra points for the large walk-in shower. The outdoor space is amazing.... The sounds of the waterfall and creek and a great outdoor fireplace make you feel like you're in a high end brochure. Easy drive to Tallulah and Brasstown Bald. The host was a great communicator and made the stay even better. I highly recommend.

Little slice of heaven!

My stay at Splendor Mountain, Shadow Rock was absolutely a "little slice of heaven"! It was peaceful, beautiful nature surrounded me and the small waterfall was just enough to add to the ambience. The chalet was just beautiful. It was clean and even more than the photos online could show. The outside patio with the lighting and fireplace was where I spent every evening. And finally, the host of the property, Chevin, was a pure gem. She was so attentive to every detail. I left feeling like I have a new friend! It was truly a blessing to be able to spend my time enjoying the fall leaves, at Splendor Mountain. I will quite certainly be back in the future.

Fabulous Getaway!

Beautiful place to host an event (such as a wedding or a family reunion) and a lovely spot for a couple's getaway too! The owner, Chevin, is a true delight to communicate with and responds quickly to any questions. I feel like I've made a new friend!
