“I have rarely used exceptional to review a hotel but the Kames was. We travelled here from New Zealand on holiday and we only had one night but it was exceptional. The restaurant menu is top class, the range on the menu was great and seriously 10/10. I had locally free dived seared scallops from the loch, I had the slow roasted goat shank with lentils - exceptional, and we shared a lemon tart with fresh berries. “We stayed at Cockleshell Lodge for 10 days in November and had a fabulous time. The lodge is right on the waters edge and we would have paid for the view alone. It is absolutely stunning. There are dog walks straight from the lodge and no need to get the car ut all around the Ballimore Estate and we met the "Lady of the House" who told us some interesting facts about the estate. “Views are beautiful, house is comfortable but a little tired. The location and peace and quiet are fabulous, nearest supermarket is 50 minutes drive so come prepared. Perhaps some comfy chairs outside to sit and enjoy the view.”

Perfect for us going with friends, as it meant we had the cottage with 2 bedrooms for 1 family of 4 and then the out house with a further 2 bedrooms and bathroom for the other family.
