“Property is severely outdated and not well maintained. Looks to be late 60’s/early 70’s. We booked last minute and got the last room so it was not traditional Japanese. However the room was HUGE. It came with a separate living room. We enjoyed having so much space but again the furniture was very old. “Ryumontei hotel is a beautiful gem! The room was spacious and clean. The entire ryokan was designed around the gorgeous and huge Japanese garden which made every moment at the ryokan a picturesque moment. A must visit during autumn! The hotel was conveniently located within short distance to nearby tourist attractions such as oriase stream, lake towada and mount hakkoda. Oh and the dinner at the ryokan was out of this world! Sadhimi, crab, beef, fish, abalone... everything was presented...

“This place was very clean and traditional, and updated at the same time. Property was beautiful. There’s a nice restaurant on property that serves the best Gyoza. We found a sushi restaurant within walking distance and they were great!”
