It was a cool looking hotel. I felt the staff weren’t too helpful though. They didn’t really make us feel like home. The restaurant was okay, a bit slow. Didn’t have time to check out the pool. Our room was big, and the blanket was definitely warm. Hot shower. Great. My favourite thing was the observatory experience with David Rivas Romero. This is only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday (I think) so we got lucky as we were okay there one night. Worth it. He was so nice and educational. We’ve never seen stars so clearly, and then he showed us a few through a telescope! Very cool experience. Check-out is 10am - early, and you have to pay to have a late checkout

We booked a quadruple room with a 2nd floor (like a loft) for 4 people in Oct 2026. Two double beds on ground floor and two twins on loft. My adult children tried to sleep on the upper deck but was too hot. The room has no AC but without screens on the sliding door, opening them to sleep drew in lots of bugs. So the 4 of us ended up sleeping on 2 double beds, which was tight. Otherwise, the amenities in the room were fine. The buffet breakfast selection was reasonable. You can made to order eggs and pancakes. The garden of the hotel was very well maintained and was beautiful.

"The Ecolodge Don Felix was a comfortable place to stay while touring in Quillabamba. It’s set in a beautiful spot by the river that is wonderful to listen to through the night. We enjoyed the pool and watching the chickens roaming the site during our stay."
